Commonly asked questions
Q:   What is the syllabus and exam pattern of DCET?
A:
Hello, The Diploma Common Entrance Test is an exam conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority. The maximum score is 180. The duration is obvious 3 hours. The questions paper will contain three segments. The first one is for Applied Mathematics. The total weightage is 40 marks. The next section is for Applied Science. Carrying the same weightage, 40 marks. The third section, which is the bigger one from the above two will constitute the Engineering/Architecture part (as per your preference). The score of this section is 100 marks. So, every question carries 1 mark each and hence 180 questions for 180 marks. An amazing rule of this exam is that there is no negative marking at all, which means you can try a 'trial & error' method in some of the questions. The syllabus is not so huge. If you have a good command over your class 11th and 12th concepts, maths and science (preferably CBSE -NCERT), you can easily crack this exam with the good marks. Hope this helps. Good luck.
Q:   Is there a negative marking in DCET?
A:

There is no negative marking in DCET examination for any incorrect and unattempted questions. The maximum marks in DCET are 100 marks and candidates get 1 mark for every correct answer.
