Know the Syllabus

Along with the exam pattern, the candidates are advised to check the official DCET 2026 syllabus, which has been released on the official website. The subjects and topics that have to be studied for the entrance examination will be released through the DCET syllabus. By knowing the syllabus beforehand, the candidates will be able to plan out their study schedule since they will be aware of the portions that they have to study for the examination.

Attempt Mock Tests

Mock tests are the replica of the entrance examination and hence will prove to be helpful to the candidates. Candidates can assess their preparation status by attempting mock tests and understanding their commonly made mistakes. Mock tests help the candidates to avoid these mistakes and score higher in the examination.  

Check the Weightage of Topics

With the help of the previous year's question papers, the candidates will be able to check how much weightage is given to each topic. This will help the candidates to understand which topic in the syllabus needs more attention and time. Candidates are advised to concentrate on those topics which have more weightage, but other topics should also be covered so that they face no problems during the exam.

Candidates should understand that taking a break in between study schedules is important as it will release stress and relax the mind for the next practice session. During their breaks, the candidates should indulge in extracurricular activities which involve physical movements. This will help them to freshen up their mind as well as take care of their health. Social media should be avoided by the candidates during their preparation time.

Revision is the Key

Revision is a very important part of the DCET 2026 preparation process. Candidates should make sure that they revise regularly whatever they have studied. By doing regular revision, the candidates will be able to ensure that they remember what they have studied and perform well during the examination. 

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) releases the DCET 2026 exam pattern along with official notification. The official website to check the exam pattern of Karnataka DCET 2026 is cetonline.karnataka.gov.in. The DCET 2026 is held offline and candidates will have to mark their answers on OMR sheet. The question paper of KEA DCET comprises 5 sections: Engineering mathematics, Statistics and Analytics, IT skills, Fundamentals of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Project Management Skills. 

The Karnataka Examinations Authority will conduct a Kannada Language Test of one hour for Horandu and Gadinadu Kannadiga language candidates to claim government seats. The total marks for Kannada Language Test are 50 marks.
