ICSI Delhi: Courses, Fees, Admission 2025, Placements, Cutoff

ICSI to be precise is Institution which takes exams and educates professionals but it is not any kind of college where you get to reside and there is no such hostel available specifically in the name of ICSI, definitely there are various branches/ chapters of institution all over India which can guide you throughout your preparations.

But when it comes to hostel and all you have to find out a residing place yourself in case if you are taking personal coaching for clearing the course from somewhere else as there is no personal hostels set up by the institution so far.

The admission criteria of ICSI is quite simple, in all the levels could it be entrance (CSEET) Executive or Professional level below mentioned is the general criteria to be followed:

• You need to register your self for your specific level with adequate documents required such as 10 and 12th marksheet.
• You must fill all the required personal details and attach all documents properly
• You need to pay nominal fee as per you level for registration.
• Once you are registered you will receive a confirmation from the institute via mail.
• All the study material and supplements will be provided within a few months of registration and you can start your preparation accordingly.
• Basically for executive and professional level the exams are taken on half yearly basis i.e June and December and the entrance exams are taken frequently.

The institute offers certificate courses from time to time. The duration of these courses can be from five days to three months. Currently, ICSI Delhi is offering a certificate course on the Valuation of Securities/Financial Assets with ICSI RVO. This course module is of 20 hours of training, which is provided through each session of two hours. Candidates wanting to pursue this course must either be a member of ICSI/ICAI/ICoAI, a student of the ICSI executive course or higher, an insolvency professional, or a postgraduate in management. The classes are conducted through live webinars. To pass this course, candidates are required to clear the MCQ-based assessment test and project report. Further, this ICSI certificate course fee is INR 7,500 plus GST.

After the online registration on ICSI and fee payment, the study material is provided to the students. Candidates get eight months to prepare for the entrance exam. In addition, it is compulsory for students to undergo seven days Student Induction Programme (SIP) within six months of registration and before appearing in the CS executive programme. After eight months of the course duration, the candidate can take the exam in any attempt (June or December). Admission to the course is valid for three years and hence, all the students must clear the CS foundation exam within the given period of time. 

The eligibility criteria for the CS foundation course is Class 12 or equivalent pass in any stream with 65% aggregate for economically backward students and 85% for academically bright candidates. While the executive course can be pursued by any candidate with a class 12 or equivalent exam pass certificate with the required aggregate/CS foundation programme pass/foundation exam pass of the institute of cost accountants of India/Common Proficiency Test (CPT) of ICAI, or Arts, Science, Commerce graduates/PG (excluding fine arts). Additionally, the applicant shall not be less than 17 years of age. Furthermore, for ICSI CS professional course can be only pursued by candidates who have cleared the CS executive exam. It must be noted that the Company Secretary courses cannot be pursued by candidates who have passed the qualifying exam in the fine arts stream.

Company Secretary course (CS) is offered by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), set up under the Company Secretaries Act, 1980 to regulate the profession of company secretaries in India. CS course consists of two stages - CS executive followed by the CS professional programmes. To get admission into the CS executive programme (first level), candidates need to qualify in the national-level Company Secretary Executive Entrance test (CSEET). A direct admission route is also available to eligible candidates. Thereafter they must qualify in the CS professional course.

It must be noted that Company Secretary course earlier had three levels, the CS foundation course which was the first level is to be discontinued. Candidates must complete the Company Secretary course to be eligible to practice as a CS.

the latest Updates on CS Course: UGC has recentlyrecognisedthe Company Secretary qualification as equivalent to a post-graduate degree. This allows CS qualified students to apply for and appear in UGC NET. Candidates can now take up PhD programmes in Commerce or allied areas.

Company secretaries aid in filing, registering, presenting, attesting or verifying any documents (including forms, applications and returns) by or on behalf of the company, a share transfer agent, an issue house, a secretarial auditor or consultant.

They can act as an advisor to a company on management including any legal or procedural matters falling under the Capital Issues (Control) Act, 1947 and other acts like the Industries (Development and Regulation) Act, 1951, the Companies Act, 1956, the Securities Contracts (Regulation) Act, 1956 as well as any of the rules or bye-laws made by arecognisedstock exchange, the Monopolies and Restrictive Trade Practices Act, 1969, the Foreign Exchange Regulation Act, 1973*, or under any other law in force. Qualified company secretaries may become legal advisors, corporate policymakers, planners, etc. in notable firms across India and abroad. The examination fee will be Rs.6,742/- inclusive of service tax for two papers and two attempts. For additional two attempts the fee will be Rs.3,371/- per attempt.
