As a candidate with an M.Tech in Structural Engineering, the UGC NET is a more suitable option because Civil and Structural Engineering are not directly included in the CSIR NET subjects. The UGC NET allows candidates from applied and professional fields to qualify for teaching and research positions in universities and colleges. Therefore, it is recommended to choose UGC NET in a related subject area such as Environmental Science or any available engineering-related specialization.

MTech admissions at IIT Indore require students to have a four-year bachelor's degree or a five-year integrated degree with first division (as defined by the awarding institute/ university for Indian applicants and equivalent for international applicants) in a relevant stream. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham offers M.Tech in Cyber Security with eligibility from BTech/BE in various related fields. To evaluate if NIT Hamirpur is good for M.Tech or not, one can think of different factors. From which the first one is placement records and the actual reviews or ratings of the students and alumni of NIT Hamirpur. In regard to these mentioned factors, the below pointers are described:
- The placements for the M.Tech course for the academic year 2025 have not been made known yet. Just for the PG placements, 173 out of 226 students were placed, and the highest package that students could bring home was INR 41 LPA in 2025.
