No, IIMs do not accept MAT score for MBA Admission. They only accept CAT score for admission to their MBA/PGP programmes. There is no age limit for appearing in MAT exam. Any candidate who has a graduation degree can appear for MAT. They can be fresh graduates or working professionals with several years of work experience. A good number of MAT applicants are working professionals who are seeking to enhance their management skills by pursuing an MBA course. At the same time, a large number of fresh graduates also apply for MAT. Especially from non-technical background as the difficulty level is not as high as CAT or XAT exams. Since, MAT is accepted by MBA colleges for Executive MBA, Online MBA, Part-Time MBA and Distance MBA courses too, a good number of working professionals appear for the MAT exam. MAT is also popular among Management aspirants and working professionals as it is an easy exam and one can prepare for it while working as well. It is easier to strike work and study balance in MAT.
Q:   What is the process to select CAT test city for exam centre allotment?
A: 

There are over 170 cities where CAT exam is held. These 170 cities are spread across India consist of metropolitan cities, capital cities, Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. Candidate can select up to five cities for allotment of test centre. The process of test city selection is a part of CAT application process. In the CAT application form, there is a field in which candidates have to select the cities. They need to select the city of preference in order of 1 to 5. The examination authorities will try to allot the test centre in the city of first preference. Thus, candidates must fill all the five cities carefully. They must choose their home city of city of current residence as the first preference. The test city option can only be changed during the form correction window. After that, the request for change of the city will not be accepted by the exam authorities.

Q:   What is the CAT exam cutoff required to get admission to IIM Bangalore?
A: 

The CAT cut offs for IIM Bangalore hovers between 97-100 percentile. The qualifying CAT cut off required for being eligible for IIM Bangalore's Written Ability test (What) and Personal Interview PI is 85 percentile for General category students, whereas for SC candidates, it is 70 percentile. For ST candidates, it is 65 percentile and for PwD candidates it is 60 percentile. Given below are the sectional and overall qualifying CAT cut offs for IIM Bangalore.

LPU MBA Admission: Eligibility Criteria

  • Qualifying Degree: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university/institute..
  • Qualifying Score: Minimum 55 per cent aggregate score is required. Candidates belonging to the following categories or regions will have a 5 per cent relaxation:
    • Candidates from north eastern states.
    • Candidates from Sikkim
    • Defence personnel or their dependants
    • Wards of Kashmiri Migrants

NOTE: Candidates who have complete CA, CS or CMA courses are exempted from appearing for entrance test. Such candidates are required to participate in the video essay and interview round.

Merely meeting the eligibility conditions will not grant admissions at LPU. MBA admission at Lpu is subject to qualifying the accepted entrance exams.

LPU offers MBA admissions to those who pass the accepted entrance exams. Additionally, candidates will have to go through other selection rounds. Entrance exams accepted for LPU MBA admission are mentioned below:

Note: LPU MBA aspirants who have completed either ICAI CA, or ICSI CS, or ICMAI CMA course are exempted to appear for the entrance exams.

Video essay requires candidates to record a video on a specific topic and submit the same before the deadline. Via the video essay, Lovely Professional University will assess candidates based on their communication skills, structure and organisation, along with professionalism.

Personal Interview for LPU MBA Admission

LPU will shortlist candidates after video essay. Shortlisted candidates have to go through a personal interview round with faculty members from LPU School of Business. Questions will be asked based on the video essay. Additionally, candidates will have to discuss their academic background, work experience, and their passion for business management.

The personal interview process will be hosted via Google Meet. Candidates must keep their background clean and clutter free before starting the video.
