VIT MBA Admission Criteria 2026: Vellore Institute of Technology offers MBA admission every year. Candidates holding a valid score in CAT, XAT or MAT are eligible for the VIT MBA admissions. VIT Vellore also conducts VITBEE for candidates who do not have a valid score in any of the national level entrance test. Candidates can apply for VIT MBA admission until April 12. VITBEE 2026 exam is scheduled to be held on May 3, 2026. The CAT cut offs for IIM Bangalore hovers between 97-100 percentile. Q:   What is the cut off mark for GMAT?

GMAT Cut Off is the minimum GMAT score required to get into your desired business school. The GMAT Cut Off is decided by the universities themselves. A GMAT score of 700 or above will be accepted by a majority of business schools. Majorly, it is the top B-schools that require a score of more than 700. Students must understand that a GMAT score is only a part of their application and is not the only criteria. In order to get selected in top MBA colleges, student must focus on building a holistic profile which has a fine balance of academics, a good GMAT score, and extracurricular activities.

Q:   What is a good score in CMAT for admission to top MBA colleges?
A: 

Ideally, one would say that 99 to100 percentile is good for MBA Admission. However, it is not possible for all candidates to score so high. So, what shall be considered a good score in CMAT. A good CMAT score is basically a score that will get you a seat in your desired college. So, if you desire a Tier 1 college, a good score in CMAT will be 85 percentile and above. If you desire a Tier 2 college, a good score in CMAT will be 70 to 85 percentile and for a Tier 3 college, less than 70 percentile in CMAT will be good. Now, if you want to understand CMAT. Score in terms of percentile, so that while giving the exam you know how much raw score is needed to get the required percentile for the desired college, you need to know how much CMAT score is equal to percentile. About 340 to 350 score is equal to 100 percentile in CMAT About 281to 340 score is equal to 90 to 99.99 percentile in CMAT About 201 to 280 score is equal to 81 to 89 percentile in CMAT About 171 to 200 score is equal to 71to 80 percentile in CMAT About 140 to 171 score is equal to 61 to 70 percentile in CMAT About 116 to 140 score is equal to 51 to 60 percentile in CMAT.

NMAT cut off score is the minimum score or marks required for shortlisting the candidate for admission or admission rounds. In simple words mean, the cutoff scores help in the screening process by which candidates can be shortlisted for further selection rounds, including the Group Discussion (GD)/Case Discussion (CD) and Personal Interview. The cut-offs list is determined by each participating college; therefore the minimum marks/ percentage required to for selection differs across different participating institutes.

VIT MBA Admission: Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for VIT MBA admissions is as follows:

  • Qualifying Degree: Bachelor’s degree from any recognised university/institute.
  • Qualifying Score: 60 per cent aggregate is required to be eligible for VIT MBA admissions. A relaxation of 10 per cent marks is applicable for the following category candidates:
    • SC/ST categories
    • Candidates hailing from Jammu and Kashmir
    • Candidates hailing from Ladakh
    • Candidates hailing from North-Eastern States
  • Work Experience: Candidates without work experience are eligible to apply. However, will have an added advantage in the VIT MBA selection process.
Candidates appearing for their final year examination of a qualifying degree course with results to be published on or before August 14, 2026, are also eligible to apply for VIT MBA admission.

These are only eligibility score and not the score for selection. The final CAT cut off percentiles are the scores on the basis of which a candidate is actually selected for the What-PI round. The qualifying CAT cut offs are released publically before the CAT exam and result as a part of selection criteria for the MBA/PGP batch of that year. The qualifying cut offs for CAT are release category wise - General, NC/OBC. General-EWS, SC/ST, PwD. The qualifying cut offs percentiles of General category candidate is higher than then rest. The final CAT cut offs are not released publically. The cut offs are estimate on the basis of candidate's selection for What-PI. The final CAT cut offs for General category candidate is also higher than then rest.

VIT provides scholarships to candidates based on their scores in MBA entrance exam. MBA scholarships at VIT Vellore are based on academic excellence. The space below provides details for tuition fee waivers based on the scores from entrance exams:
