With a placement offer in one hand, to the most memorable experience in the other- to say that my 2-Year experience at FORE School of Management (FSM) was eventful would be an understatement.

I still remember the evening when I had received my acceptance mail from FSM, I had shrieked with joy! Entering the campus and walking through the pristine halls on the first day, I was overwhelmed with the anticipation of my time at an MBA college. While I didn’t have any specific expectations but having previously done my graduation in Business Studies, my main motivation to get into FORE was to become an all-rounder marketer. From early morning classes, to running around campus for assignments, and late-night study sessions to the interesting competitions, corporate exposure & continuous interaction with the corporates- there is never a dull moment on campus.

What furthered my adventure were the student committees I was a part of where I got a chance to peek behind the scenes- getting sponsorships, approving budgets, creating promotional plans and launching new events altogether. There are over 18 student committees that a student can become a part of- something in store for every one based on their interests & inclinations. The one I got selected for was coincidentally the one where I truly envisioned myself to be - the PR & Admissions Cell.

The college is thorough with the placements process- assistance for which is available for both summer internship & finals placements.

The experience of faculty reflects in their approach to case-based learning and articulation of concepts, which they support with research & industry examples- enlisting application insights for students. Furthermore, regular seminars with industry experts kept me updated with the latest happenings and emerging trends- an example of this was a seminar by Mr. Sandeep Balan of United Breweries on digital marketing, which really inspired me to take that up as one of my electives later on. Another thing that none of the ads/coaching institutes for MBA mention, is the need of an extensive alumni network- which is what FORE is great at. The college has alums spread worldwide and invites them to the campus from time to time to share their learnings & experiences.

The course is rigorously planned, giving each student the ambient condition and many opportunities to explore their full potential and polish their leadership skills. I was exposed to group dynamics of the corporates which was the most interesting for me. The days sometimes seem endless, coffee tends to become a constant ally to navigate through the myriad of projects, role plays, case discussions & group assignments. I often play badminton or table tennis on campus with friends which are the perfect stress busters after a long day of brainstorming.

The college is thorough with the placements process- assistance for which is available for both summer internship & finals placements. I was able to get my summer placement at United Biscuits India Pvt. Ltd. which gave me the amazing opportunity to not just learn but apply what I had learned in the duration of my first year.

The highlight of this experience I would have to say was the International Immersion Program that was conducted at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore- this week-long program almost complemented what we had previously learned with getting an application-based look into the international markets.

At this point in my program, I have interacted with people from all walks of the corporate life, developed a close circle of friends hailing from different parts of India, and am equipped with the basic knowledge any manager must have to make it in professional life- which is what I am looking forward to and most excited about.

No, FORE School of Management does not offer direct admissions and does not reserve any seats under special management quota. As such students must get admission purely on merit alone with entrance exam scores such as CAT, XAT and GMAT being required for admission to the PGDM course.
