What MBA programme at ITS taught me: Sumit Kumar Mishra

ITS Engineering College

I completed my graduation from Lucknow. I joined ITS Engineering College for pursuing my MBA, based on the recommendations of few friends. Initially I was skeptical about joining this college but now I can say that this decision has proved to be the best decision of my life. I was sure that due to regressive nature of the course I am going to miss the fun part of the life, but to my utter surprise, the college had a lot of fun filled activities. The college organises lot of Cultural and Technical fests. The college organises a fest called ‘Udgosh’ each year. It comprises numerous cultural and sports events. All the fests and activities witness active participation from the students. The college also organises events like “Startup weekend”, to upgrade the knowledge of students. Prolific speakers from the industry are invited from time to time, to share their knowledge from the students. Also Alumni meets are organised as part of the program. Apart from all these events, festivals like Holi and Diwali are celebrated with full enthusiasm at the campus. Many known Bollywood celebrities such as Shradhha Kapoor, Prabhudeva etc. have visited the campus. This whole process kept us occupied creatively and also helped us to get at par with the practices of corporate sector.

What the college offers?

Apart from the colorful cultural and insightful technical events, the college has a pool of resourceful faculties. The faculties always insisted on experimental mode of learning instead of just grasping the bookish knowledge. Although MBA curriculum is always exhaustive but the different interactive methods of teaching used here, have made it quite enriching for all the students. Also, we had an effective placement cell. We were trained on our soft skills. We were taught to deliver good presentations and most importantly to present ourselves in the most effective ways. We were trained on our interview skills and also participated in numerous mock sessions. Many of these sessions were conducted by our aluminis. It is because of my rigorous training at the college that I have secured a placement at Axis Bank.

The college also has a great infrastructure. It has a wide lush green campus, with all the facilities such as canteen, ATM etc. available for students. The college also had a dedicated space and infrastructure for training purpose.  I have really enjoyed each and every day of my campus and hostel life with my friends. The time spent here in the campus is going to be one of the cherished memories of my life. Now I look forward to start my journey at Axis Bank.
