Why Do We Need Energy Management?

There is height of paradox about India-the global leader with a GDP of 7.3%. The paradox is the huge wastage of energy. India’s energy consumption is mostly dependent on fossil fuel and as per the report of Bureau of Energy Efficiency India has only 100 years of energy storage and due to this power cost is more. To reduce the bills we need to exploit non conventional sources of energy. India is also investing in renewable energy sector. Investment on renewable energy in India will reach up to 225GW by 2030. It is not an easy task to manage a proper balance between the energy obtained from conventional and non conventional energy resources by an organization. Here comes the need of Energy Management.

Industries need Energy Management specialists to make the company more efficient in terms of its energy utilization. Industry needs efficient Energy Management specialists to have a contribution to reduce the gap between profit and loss by required Energy Management techniques. This will improve return on investment. Many industrial sectors has developed an integrated approach called “Total Quality Management” to control energy operation and its expenses.

Energy Management market size in India is growing very rapidly during last five years as per the latest trends it will reach $2145 million in next five years. The growth rate of CAGR is 19.1%. To summarize India’s energy policies 3As’ are identified availability, access and affordability. India’s energy usage has become double since 2000 due to high population growth, although the per capita consumption is one third of the global average. India’s energy strategy is mainly depends on balance between clean coal and renewable energy sources. India is one of the fastest growing economies in the world.
