MBA in Infrastructure Development and Management - Batch of 2019

You can take admission in this college for your better future.
Placements: Placement drives of our batch are yet to be conducted. Placements of senior batch were good. The average salary package offered was around 6-8 LPA. Roles like management trainee, project management and some roles in sales and for finance were offered for students. We are expecting a good number of placement opportunities, this year.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is excellent. Labs are well-equipped. Teachers are very good. The quality of food served is above average. The hostel is also well-equipped with a bed, table, chair, etc. Girls can have better privacy, and even the security measures taken for girls are good. All the academic blocks are enabled with Wi-Fi.
Faculty: I'm doing an MBA specialisation in Infrastructure management. It is a very well designed course. All the aspects of infrastructure in India are very well covered. A few of these aspects are project management, infrastructure planning and development, PPP, project feasibility and financing.

MBA IM at SCMHRD, an overview from an insider.
Placements: The placements are 100% for MBA-IM course students in last year. The companies like Feedback Birsa, ABPS Infrastructure, IG Petrochemicals, Fortress Financial Services, Ambuja Cement were the new recruiters along with the companies who choose us every year are Capgemini, Genpact, Kalpataru. The roles offered are like analysis in the infrastructure sector, sales and marketing. In the batch of 2016-18, all the students placed in a summer internship in organizations like The World Bank, PwC, Capgemini, Genpact, Kalpataru, ABPS Infrastructure, National Innovation Foundation, Shapoorji and Pallonji, to name a few.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for education is good but can be improved, especially the Wi-Fi connectivity. But mess facilities, campus lifestyles, accommodation should be improved. We feel more like a boarding school than a B-school. Since students study late night, facilities like night canteen where basic food like maggie and coffee should be available.
Faculty: The course is exhaustive and time is cramped. But for IM, it is very relevant to the sector, encompassing all aspects of the industry from project execution to financial appraisal, risk management, contract management, tendering bidding and contracting, site management, etc.

Other: SCMHRD infrastructure is massive and shares its campus with SCIT. Scmhrd used to be one man army strongly focused on overall student development but not so good at academics, things have moved on since once they shifted to new campus in Hinjewadi and the academics and faculty availability has improved. So has the placements offered. Over the years the profile of the companies visiting and offers has seen a linear growth. There is a strong focus on extracurricular activities aimed at developing soft skills in students earlier.

Other: Good- the course has immense potential. Infrastructure in India is a trillion dollar opportunity. The bad- 1. The course being new, it is still being experimented with. In this process, a lot of unnecessary things are being taught. Also, it has been structured such that you become a jack of all, master of none. 2. Faculty tie-up is poor. Many a times they end up teaching technical stuff that would have been covered in engineering. 3. The course visibility in industry is extremely low 4. Up until my batch at least, the placement scenario was bad. There was inadequate intervention of management in this regard. 5. Insufficient corporate exposure to students. Internships are as per the flagship programme structure. However, industry experience being of utmost importance in this sector, it must be increased.

SCMHRD is much better than BIMTECH as it has the brand name of Symbiosis. BIMTECH should be the 2nd option for you. Also the placements of SCMHRD are very good so I would suggest that you go for SCMHRD
