In 1951 the University acquired statutory recognition from the Government of Maharashtra. This recognition came along with the rare privilege of jurisdiction across the country.
Today the University has three campuses-Pune, Churchgate and Juhu in Mumbai. In addition to 39 university Departments and 13 constituent colleges/ institutions located on Four campuses, it has 166affiliated colleges in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa Madhya Pardesh, Uttar Pradesh. It has an enrolment of over 70,000 students in liberal and professional programmes. These are offered thought 12 Faculties Viz Arts, Fine Arts, Social Science, Commerce, Science Education, Home Science, Law, Technology Management, Library and Information Science and social work.
As the University updated its campuses in Pune and Mumbai, its ideology and distinct purpose solidified. The Women's University set out to establish an environment in which girls could grow into strong, self-sufficient, responsible persons who could be a source of strength to their families and communities. This is as true today as it was a century ago. The university's motto is "-Wdl t MilRn." In other words, "an Enlightened women is a source of infinite strength." Based on this idea, the University has established several distinctive and unique aspects, such as catering entirely to women and offering programs relevant to them. Seven decades ago, the SNDT women's university pioneered the concept of distance education by allowing students to study from home.

Established in 1989, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University (DBATU) is a unitary, Maharashtra state Technological University in Lonere, Maharashtra. It is named after Babasaheb Ambedkar, a prominent Indian jurist, economist, politician and social reformer. The university is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC), the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), and is accredited by NAAC with a 'B' grade. Presently, more than 415 institutes are affiliated with the University, and the total student strength is 2 lakh. Popular courses at DBATU include BE/ BTech, MTech, and MCA. DBATU admission to BTech is done through the JEE Mains entrance examinations, followed by counselling. According to the DBATU placements, the median package stood at INR 4.5 LPA.

The mentioned marks of SC/ST and OBC is for the candidate belonging to maharashtra State. Candidates who are appearing at the qualifying examination are also eligible. Maharashtra State candidates must have to appear for MHTCET. All India Candidates need to appear for MHTCET/NEET. However, preference shall be given to the candidate obtaining non zero positive score in NEET over the candidates who obtained non zero score in MHTCET. |
