ICAI increases Academic Focus on AI, ESG, and Forensic Accounting in CA Curriculum
The accounting body discusses Advanced Career Development for Chartered Accountants.
Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) recently held a Brainstorming Meet for Academic Excellence, in which industry experts, academicians deliberated on strengthening academic framework of Chartered Accountancy profession.
The association held discussions on aligning learning with global benchmarks and preparing Indian students for emerging areas like sustainability, fintech, data science, digital learning and industry linked case studies.
Charanjot Singh Nanda, President, ICAI, said, “Our new curriculum, aligned with the National Education Policy and global standards, places strong emphasis on practical learning, technology integration and soft skills. By incorporating contemporary subjects such as Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, ESG and Forensic Accounting, alongside digital learning tools, we aim to nurture analytical and entrepreneurial abilities that prepare students to seize opportunities in emerging sectors and adapt to evolving industry trends.”
ICAI brainstorming meet witnessed expert discussions on taxation, accounting, law, auditing and career development. It also recommended actionable reforms to integrate practical exposure, innovation and ethical application of technology in CA curriculum.
