CBSE Board Exams 2021: After Maharashtra State Board (MSBSHSE) and Gujarat State Board’s decision to postpone GSEB 10th, 12th Board Exams 2021 until May instead of February - March, many are now expecting the Central Board of Secondary Education or CBSE to make a similar announcement. The board, under a normal academic calendar, conducts the Class 10, 12 board examinations in February and March. However, last month, both CBSE and CISCE shared that the two national boards are contemplating a decision to either postpone the exams or cut syllabus – or choose a combination thereof.
The Board usually releases the CBSE 10th Date Sheet and CBSE 12th Date Sheet in the month of December. In 2019, the board released the CBSE 10th, 12th date sheet in early November as it announced its decision to pre-pone the board exams. This year, however, there is no news on the release date for the CBSE Date Sheet 2021. According to the latest reports, Maharashtra Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad confirmed that it would be impossible to conduct Maharashtra SSC board examinations 2021 and Maharashtra HSC Board Exams 2021 before the upcoming May. This she announced along with the State Government’s decision to reopen the schools from November 23.
A similar announcement is made by Gujarat as well. Gujarat government stated that the GSEB 10th and GSEB 12th Board Exams would be conducted in May 2021 instead of the usual February and March dates. Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh also hinted at a delay in the Intermediate Exams to April instead of the February timetable. With many states announcing the delay in the academic calendar and shift of the board exams to a more comfortable May 2021, all eyes are now set on CBSE and its decision. Sources close to the board confirmed that a decision would be shared once made. As of today, there is no update on the CBSE 10th and CBSE 12th board exams 2021 date sheet. The announcement is also more likely to come from the Ministry of Education in regards to the academic calendar 2020-21.
