HP Board flexible improvement policy for class 10 and 12 students will be implemented along with major changes in class 10 and 12 board exams from academic session 2026. While both decisions are under proposal stage, aim is to reduce academic stress for students.
HPBOSE Class 10, 12 Board Exams 2026: Himachal Pradesh School Education Board is set to introduce a flexible improvement policy for HPBOSE Class 10 and 12 students starting March 2026, aligned with guidelines of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. As part of this system, HPBOSE board exams 2026 class 10 and 12 will be conducted twice annually (first in March and then in July), offering students multiple chances to improve their performance. HP Board exam twice-a-year system aims to reduce academic stress and provide flexibility for students to improve their scores.
Students who are unable to clear one or more subjects in HPBOSE board exam March 2026 will have opportunity to reappear in July, while those who pass can also choose to improve their scores. This flexible option aims to provide students with chances of securing college admissions, winning scholarships, and performing better in competitive exams, all without affecting regular academic calendar or requiring a repeat year.
HPBOSE Class 10 and 12 Exam Twice a Year: Proposal Seeks Govt Approval
As per media reports, proposal to conduct HPBOSE board exams twice a year from 2026 currently seeks government approval, further aims to eliminate terms ‘fail’ and ‘compartment', as labels often carry a psychological burden for students. This reform is intended to promote a more supportive and stress-free assessment environment for Class 10 and 12 students.

HPBOSE 12th compartment exams 2026 are expected to be conducted between July 22 and 25 in pen and paper format. The date sheet can be checked by clicking on HP Board 12th date sheet 2026. Students must go through the syllabus and know the exam pattern well. They must also download the practice the HPBOSE 12th sample papers and previous years question papers for better preparation for the exams.
CUET UG 2026 datesheet is released soon after the registration process is over. Candidates can check their CUET 2026 exam schedule on their intimation slip or admit card also. CUET UG 2026 exam will be held in CBT mode. Last year, NTA did not release the official CUET examination schedule, however, candidates can check the schedule for applied subjects on their admit cards, when released. Candidates can know the CUET subject wise slots, exam dates and timings.

HP Board will likely conduct the HPBOSE 10th supplementary exam 2026 between July 22 and 28, 2026. The board will release the HPBOSE 10th supplementary result 2026 in August 2026.
Students preparing for the exams must go through the HPBOSE 10th syllabus and must know the exam pattern well. They must also download and practice the HP Board 10th sample appers and previous years question papers for better preparation of the exam.
