Maharashtra Board Exam 2026 Passing Marks

To pass a subject in Maharashtra HSC board exam, students must score at least 35 per cent of total marks prescribed for that subject. For subjects that have two papers or include both theory and practical exams, marks obtained in all parts are added together to decide whether the student has passed.

If a student fails in one or more subjects, the board may allow a concession of up to 15 marks in total to help student pass. This is limited to a maximum of three subjects, and subject-wise limit must not be exceeded.

Students appearing with exemptions will get automatic condonation of up to eight marks, depending on the number of subjects they have failed in. However, this relaxation will not be more than three marks in any one subject.

Maharashtra HSC 2026 Grading System

The Maharashtra Board will award the "first class with distinction" to students who have scored 75% and above marks in final exam.
