Courses will be developed and administered by UPRTOU, with options in computer applications, retail, hospitality, communication skills, and other practical domains.

The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UP Board) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University (UPRTOU). The initiative aims to offer job-oriented diploma and certificate courses along with career counselling for students who have passed Class 12 under the UP Board.

The MoU was signed in Prayagraj in the presence of UP Board Secretary Bhagwati Prasad Singh and UPRTOU Vice Chancellor Professor Seema Singh.

Objectives of the Initiative

Equip intermediate pass-outs with industry-relevant skills

Provide vocational and skill-based training in both online and offline modes

Offer career guidance and counselling services through regional centres

Send SMS and email alerts to eligible students about new courses, admission deadlines, and job-related opportunities

Key Features

Courses will be developed and administered by UPRTOU, with options in computer applications, retail, hospitality, communication skills, and other practical domains.

Students will have access to UPRTOUโ€™s network of 12 regional centres and affiliated study centres across Uttar Pradesh.

The UP Board will assist in identifying suitable candidates and disseminating course details to recent Class 12 pass-outs.

UP Board Secretary Bhagwati Prasad Singh said, โ€œThis partnership will bridge the gap between academic qualifications and job-market requirements. Itโ€™s a step in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.โ€

Professor Seema Singh, VC of UPRTOU, added, โ€œThe emphasis will be on short-term, affordable, and modular courses that enable students to become job-ready in diverse sectors.โ€

Many students who pass Class 12 in Uttar Pradesh face limited access to employable skills, especially in rural areas. This MoU opens new pathways for non-college-bound youth to pursue meaningful careers.

The registration process for these job-oriented courses is expected to start soon, and eligible students will be notified through the UP Boardโ€™s official communication channels.
