Calcutta University has released the Undergraduate Admission Notification for the academic year 2020-21. As per the notification released by the varsity on its official website, the candidates can apply for the UG Admissions from August 10 onwards. Candidates seeking admission in BA, B.Sc, B.Com, B.Mus, BBA Programmes can go apply for the same by visiting the official website of Calcutta University from August 10 to complete the Calcutta University Admission 2020 process. The varsity will be releasing the merit list on August 28 on its official website, i.e.caluniv.ac.in. The admission process is scheduled to commence from September 1, 2020, and the last date for Admissions is September 25, 2020.
As per the notification, the complete admission process for the UG admissions to Calcutta University will be conducted in the online mode due to the COVID-19 lockdown and to maintain social distancing norms. The notification also states that the colleges affiliated to the university are required to keep the student strength for each subject within the intake capacity sanctioned by the university and follow all the reservation policy of the Government.
The students applying for the admissions to the undergraduate courses must make sure that they read through the eligibility criteria mentioned for each of the programmes before filling the online applications. Candidates applying for the UG programmes must have cleared the Class 12 Board Exams in their respective secondary school examination board results with minimum marks as prescribed for each curse in order to apply.
The university has been ranked 7th in NIRF Ranking 2020 and 5th by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), Ministry of HRD, Government of India in 2019. Notably, the University of Calcutta has been awarded the 1st position among the state universities in QS BRICS & QS India University Rankings 2019.
