IIT Hyderabad Admissions 2021: The Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad along with Swinburne University of Technology (SUT), Australia is all set to launch a new joint doctoral programme (JDP) for students to work on frontier areas of science, technology and design. Candidates interested in IIT Hyderabad Admissions 2021 must note that the joint doctoral programme is expected to commence in July 2021 with an enrolment of 10 PhD students.

Talking about the launched JDP, the institute said, “the students admitted to the JDP will get an opportunity to spend up to one year at SUT, Australia supported by Swinburne University Postgraduate Research Awards (SUPRAS) scholarship from SUT.”

Overwhelmed by the step taken, Professor BS Murty, director, IIT-H talked about the aim and vision involved behind the decision. He said, “This agreement aims at creating a global ecosystem of academic and research to bring the best of the two pioneer institutes of the world and deliver the new age technology for the betterment of society at large. This will also promote global learning, fosters understanding among groups from diverse backgrounds and perspectives, and develops globally-minded individuals.”

A fellowship according to the ministry of education norms will be given to the students at IIT-H enrolled under the joint doctoral programme. Besides, students will also receive a top-up scholarship (150 AUD) from SUT while they are at IIT-H. While at SUT, they will receive a scholarship identical to the Swinburne University Postgraduate Research Awards (SUPRA) from SUT for up to 12 months.
