IIT Kharagpur offers FREE online course on cloud computing; Applications invited
The AICTE approved FDP course will take approximately 8 weeks to complete. The Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur has offered this course previously as well on SWAYAM.
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur has now begun the online registrations for a free online course on cloud computing. The IIT Kharagpur's online course aims to benefit the undergraduate and postgraduate students pursuing their computer science, electronics and communication and electrical engineering. The AICTE approved FDP course will take approximately 8 weeks to complete. The Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur has offered this course previously as well on SWAYAM.
The online course will be conducted by Prof. Soumya K Ghosh who has received the PhD and MTech degrees from the department of computer science and engineering, IIT Kharagpur. Presently, he is a professor with the department of computer science and engineering at the institute. The professor has also earlier worked at the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) in the area of satellite remote sensing and geographic information systems.
IIT Kharagpur Free Online Course on Cloud Computing: Topics to be covered
The course will introduce various aspects of cloud computing, including fundamentals, management issues, security challenges and future research trends, and help students and researchers to use and explore the cloud computing platforms through the following topics:
- Introduction to cloud computing
- Cloud computing architecture
- Service management in cloud computing
- Data management in cloud computing
- Resource management in the cloud
- Cloud security
- Open source and commercial clouds, cloud simulator
- Research trend in cloud computing, and fog computing
Candidates must note that the course will begin from August 23, 2021 onwards, and the last date for learners to register is August 23, 2021. While taking the course is free, learners will have to pay Rs 1,000 to take an examination and obtain certificates with logos of NPTEL and IIT Kharagpur.
