IIT Madras postpones HSEE 2021 exam amid COVID-19 surge, revised date to be announced soon

Earlier, the Humanities and Social Sciences Entrance Examination (HSEE) 2021 was scheduled to be conducted on June 13.

HSEE 2021: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras deferred the HSEE 2021 exam amid the ongoing pandemic situation and increasing COVID-19 cases in the state. Earlier, the Humanities and Social Sciences Entrance Examination (HSEE) 2021 was scheduled to be conducted on June 13. According to the information released by IIT Madras, the revised dates for the HSEE 2021 examination will be announced at least 15 days before the examination on the official website of HSEE. Candidates who have registered themselves and filled the HSEE 2021 application form must note that they can check the application status until May 11. The HSEE 2021 registration window was closed on March 31.

 The HSEE 2021 exam admit card will be released on the official HSEE website. The candidates will be required to download the HSEE admit card 2021 using their login credentials and carry the same along with a government photo ID to the examination centre. Humanities and Social Sciences Entrance Examination, commonly known as HSEE, is an entrance examination conducted every year by the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT Madras for admission to its five-year integrated MA programmes in Development Studies and English Studies.

Meanwhile, the technology institute also postponed its end-semester exams which were earlier scheduled to be conducted from May 10. IIT Madras had planned to conduct semester exams in the pen-and-paper mode for students at Kendriya Vidyalayas from May 10. An official circular released by the institute states, “Due to the pandemic, the exams of January - May 2021 semester scheduled to be held from May 10 are postponed. The exact dates will be intimated later.”
