IITGN & NIPER-A signs MoU for academic, research and knowledge exchange
Incubation facilities in various areas and students’ internships for “hands-on” exposure would also be facilitated under this association.
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar and the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research - Ahmedabad (NIPER Ahmedabad) mutually signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to facilitate various activities for academic, research and knowledge transfer. According to the official statement, the MoU was signed and exchanged by Professor Sudhir K Jain, Director, IITGN and Professor Kiran Kalia, Director, NIPER-A on October 12. Under this MoU, the faculty, students, and researchers of both institutions would also be able to use each other’s lab infrastructure. With this latest collaboration, IITGN and NIPER-A intend to work together in knowledge creation, technology development, and human resource development through joint R&D proposals. As a part of this agreement, the faculty, students, and researchers of both institutions would also be able to use each other’s lab infrastructure. Incubation facilities in various areas and students’ internships for “hands-on” exposure would also be facilitated under this association.
Talking about the decision, Professor Kiran Kalia, Director, NIPER-A, said, “We are delighted to have entered into this agreement with IITGN. The knowledge exchange would greatly benefit our faculty, students, and researchers to enhance their academic and research pursuits further. Both the institutions have their own strengths in various areas of research and development, and sharing them for mutual support would result in better utilisation of resources for the benefit of students and the researchers.”
Mr Sudhir K Jain, Director, IITGN, stated,"We at IITGN believe that collaboration is critical for effective knowledge creation that can make an impact for the society. We feel privileged to have NIPER-A as our neighbouring academic institute which has worked extensively in pharmaceutical education and research. On the other hand, IITGN also has considerable research and teaching activities in biological engineering, biomedical engineering and healthcare. I am sure our partnership with NIPER-A will significantly benefit faculty and students of both the institutes in research and innovation."
