IIT Gandhinagar Course Admissions 2024: Dates, Eligibility, Registration, Fees & Selection Criteria

The application process for all the courses offered by IIT Gandhinagar is completely online. Candidates seeking admission must apply via the following websites:

• BTech students must fill out the application form for JEE (Main) via the official website of the National Testing Agency (NTA) (nta.ac.in). The application fee for boys is INR 625 and INR 325 for girls.
• MTech students are required to register for GATE through the official website of GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) (appsgate.iitd.ac.in). The application fee for boys is INR 1,500 and INR 750 for girls.
• For MSc, candidates need to register for IIT JAM through the official website (iitr.ac.in). The application charges for others is INR 1,800 for other and INR 900 for female (all categories)/ SC/ ST/ PwD for one test paper.
• For MA and PhD, students are required to apply via the official website of IIT Gandhinagar. 

The answer is both yes and no. Candidates seeking admission to BTech at IIT Gandhinagar are expected to qualify both JEE Main and JEE Advanced and further go through JoSAA counselling to secure admission. However, getting final admission only on the basis of JEE Main score, is not possible. Additionally, to be eligible for the BTech programme, candidates must have passed their Class 12 with 75% aggregate. Hence, while JEE Main is the most important starting point to get into IIT Gandhinagar for the glagship programme, it is not the only criteria for it. 

Yes, non-GATE applicants willing to get into M.Tech at IIT Gandhinagar are required to appear for the institute level entrance test. However, all candidates are required to appear for the Personal Interview round for final selection. In addition to this, BTech graduates from the IITs with CGPA/ CPI of 8.0 or above (on a scale of 10) are eligible to get admission to M.Tech at IIT Gandhinagar without GATE. Other than GATE or the criteria state above, candidates are required to be a pass in BE/ BTech/ MSc or equivalent in appropriate branches with a minimum of 55% aggregate or 5.5 on a 10-point scale (50% aggregate for SC /ST). Before knowing the cutoff, students must understand the difference between admission and qualifying cutoff of GATE. the exam qualifying cutoff is the institute eligibility cutoff while the GATE admission cutoff ensures a call for admission at IITs, NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs. For 2023, cut off was 2110 for General category candidates in All India quota for Integrated M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Gandhinagar - Indian Institute of Technology. For 2023, cut off was 9651 for General category candidates in All India quota for B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering in IIT Gandhinagar. For female candidates in general category under All India quota, 14158 was the closing rank. B.Tech cut off varies depending on the category and domicile/quota of the applicant.
