Jamia Millia Islamia organizes webinar on 'Covid-19: Diagnosis and Clinical Management'
The clinical aspects of the disease including mild, severe, and very severe cases, and the current treatment protocol for COVID-19 patients including the use of antiviral drugs, steroids, anti-inflammatory medications, anticoagulants, plasma therapy, and supplements were discussed.
In the view of the ongoing pandemic situation, centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Basic Sciences (CIRBSc), Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) organized a webinar on 'COVID-19: Diagnosis and Clinical Management' on September 26, 2020. Professor Shobha Broor (Emeritus Professor, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, SGT University, Gurgaon) and Dr. Shweta Bansal (Consultant, Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine, VIMHANS Nayati Multispeciality Hospital, New Delhi) attended the webinar as the speakers of the event.
A compressive overview of the available diagnostic approaches for COVID-19 including real-time PCR, serology, and antigen detection was presented by Professor Broor. In addition, she also provided insight into the common myths and facts about this infection.

JMI Vice-Chancellor Professor Najma Akhtar expressed the importance of such activities wherein the dialogues on health-related aspects and awareness related to Covid-19 is extremely important in the present scenario. Ms Najma also expressed the need for conducting exclusive research on COVID-19 calling it the prime importance in the national health care leading to an 'Atmanirbhar Bharat'.
Meanwhile, students aspiring to take admission to JMI must note that Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) released the official dates of the JMI Entrance Exam which will commence from October 10, 2020, onwards and will carry on until November 2020.
