JMI Entrance Exam 2026: Result (OUT), Answer Key (OUT), Pattern, Syllabus, Eligibility, Question Paper

Jamia Millia Islamia University conducts JMI Entrance Exam once every year for admissions to UG and PG courses offered by the university along with PG Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Diploma, MPhil, PhD, and certificate courses under various faculties/ departments/ centres such as Engineering, Architecture & Planning, Hospitality & Travel, Animation, Mass Communication, Humanities & Social Sciences, Languages, Commerce, Natural Sciences, Dentistry, Law, Fine Arts, Management Studies as well as Teaching & Education. 

Note - A candidate will be able to secure a seat at JMI only if they fulfill the JMI eligibility criteria for their target course. Jamia Millia Islamia also accepts JEE, NATA, CUET, and NEET scores for some courses. Those who take other accepted entrance exams do not have to appear for the JMI Entrance Exam. But, they do have to apply for admission on JMI's website.

Jamia Millia Islamia conducts JMI Counselling separately for different courses on different dates in offline mode. Selected candidates have to complete their admission formalities on or before the last date mentioned in admission schedule. Only candidates with their application numbers in the JMI merit list will be allowed to participate in the counselling process of the selected course.

As of now JMI interview schedule 2026 for two mass communication courses has been released. Check below to know the dates:

Jamia Millia Islamia has declared the JMI entrance exam 2026 result on its official website. The entrance exam results include a provisional merit list with the application numbers of selected candidates and other details. Selected candidates must complete admission formalities by the due date listed in the provisional merit list. The university is releasing result for different courses on separate dates.

Jamia Millia Islamia is releasing JMI answer keys for candidates who appeared for the test. The university does not release answer keys for all courses in one go. Instead, it releases the answer keys and response sheet of candidates for each course separately, within five working days of the exam. Candidates can compare their responses with the JMI answer key and calculate their JMI 2026 scores.

Candidates also get a window to raise challenges against the provisional answer key. Challenges against the JMI answer key can be submitted within 48 hours after the answer key is released. Candidates will have to pay INR 200 per challenged question. Jamia will not entertain any grievance received without fee payment. After all challenges have been received and considered, a final answer key is published by JMI. 

The JMI Entrance Exam eligibility criteria vary from course to course. The same for different courses is listed below - 

BA (Hons) (Mass Media Hindi)

The eligibility criteria for admissions in this course at Jamia Millia Islamia University state that interested candidates should have secured at least 50% aggregate marks or in the concerned subject with Senior Sec. School Certificate or an equivalent examination.

MA Mass Communication 

The eligibility criteria of the JMI Entrance Exam for this course state that a candidate who is a graduate in any discipline (in the 10+2+3 pattern) is eligible to apply for admission to the MA Mass Communication course at Jamia Millia Islamia University. Apart from this, the candidate should have secured at least 50 per cent marks in aggregate at the graduation level.

MA (Convergent Journalism) (Self-Financed)

AJK MCRC states that any candidate who is a graduate in any stream (10+2+3) from a recognized college with a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate marks meets the eligibility criteria for this course admissions.

M.A.(Development Communication) (Self Financed)

As per criteria, a graduate in any stream (10+2+3) from a recognized college with a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate marks is eligible to apply.

M.A.(Visual Effects and Animation) (Self Financed)

A candidate must have graduation in any discipline (10+2+3) with not less than 50% marks in aggregate. Apart from this, the applicants must be proficient in Windows and having knowledge of Adobe Photoshop/Adobe Illustrator will make the candidate desirable.

MA (Media & Governance)

The eligibility criteria for MA in Media & Governance states that a candidate must have at least 50 per cent in aggregate at graduate level in any discipline.

PG Diploma in TV Journalism (Hindi Medium) (Self-Financed)

To be eligible for admission in this course, aspirants should have completed their graduation from a recognized college (in any stream) with at least 45 per cent aggregate marks.

PG Diploma in Urdu Mass Media

For Urdu Mass Media course admissions, candidates should have cleared graduation with at least 45% marks in Urdu/Persian/Arabic. The admission in this course is done through CUET PG.

PG Diploma in Still Photography & Visual Communication (Self-Financed)

Candidates who have completed their graduation (10+2+3) in any discipline and have scored at least 50 per cent marks in aggregate are eligible to apply for admissions.

JMI Eligibility 2026 for Other Courses

For BTech, admission is offered to eligible candidates as per merit based on the final ranks of candidates in JEE Main

For BArch, admission is offered to eligible candidates as per merit based on the final ranks of candidates in NATA conducted by the Council of Architecture.

Admission to the BDS program is based on merit in NEET conducted by the Medical Counselling Cell (MCC) of D.G.H.S. GoI.

The JMI admit card for entrance exam conducted by Jamia Millia Islamia will be made available at Admission Portal. JMI entrance exam admit card is a mandatory document to be carried by students to their exam centres. If a candidate fails to bring the admit card, they won't be allowed to take the exam.

JMI will inform about the release of hall ticket via SMS on the registered number. Once the candidates download their admit cards, they have to take a printout and paste their self-attested passport-size recent coloured photograph in the space provided. Candidates have to carry two copies of their admit card to the allotted test centre as they are required to submit one to the invigilator at the time of the exam. Candidates must also check the instructions and guidelines given on their admit card.
