The entrance exams for Jamia Millia Islamia Admission 2021 to various PhD programmes were scheduled to be held on April 20, 22, 24, 26.

JMI PhD Entrance Exam Postponed! Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) postponed the PhD entrance tests until further orders. The decision to defer the PhD entrance tests is taken considering the ongoing pandemic situation and terrifying surge in the COVID-19 cases. The entrance exams for Jamia Millia Islamia Admission 2021 to various PhD programmes were scheduled to be held on April 20, 22, 24, 26.

Announcing the decision regarding the postponement of the entrance exam, JMI released an official statement. The statement reads, β€œThe Competent Authority keeping in view of COVID-19 surge in Delhi and weekend curfew imposed by Government of NCT of Delhi, has postponed the PhD Entrance Tests which were earlier announced to be held on 20th, 22nd, 24th and 26th of April 2021 till further orders.”

JMI in the social media handle said: β€œJMI has postponed the PhD Entrance Test till further order in view of the COVID-19 surge in Delhi and weekend curfew imposed by the GNCT of Delhi.”

Meanwhile, the varsity also issued fresh guidelines for students and staff in view of the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the national capital. In a meeting of Deans of Faculties and other officials, the university decided to constitute a corona control committee and a monitoring committee to keep a check on the situation at the university campus.

A statement issued by JMI said, wearing a mask has been made mandatory for all and no entry will be given to the campus without a mask.β€œAll students are advised to stay at home and avoid physical presence for their academic work, library, laboratory, etc. unless it is very essential. All COVID- 19 Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) has to be followed to enter campus for academic activities and essential work which includes thermal screening at gates, wearing a mask, social distancing, no spitting in public places and entry with only valid identity proof along with the purpose of visit to the University Campus etc.” JMIΒ said.
