The final year exams for students in arts, science and commerce colleges will be conducted from May 6 to May 21. Colleges are expected to finish the first and second-year exams before May 5.

The Mumbai University has finally issued a circular, which mentions final year and college-level exams. The circular has finally put an end to all confusion over exams and clarified that the exams will be conducted in online mode. The format of the question papers will be multiple-choice questions (MCQ) for traditional Arts, Commerce and Science courses, while for the professional courses, it will be a mix of descriptive ones and MCQs.

The final year exams for students in arts, science and commerce colleges will be conducted from May 6 to May 21. Colleges are expected to finish the first and second-year exams before May 5.

The schedule for the exams in professional courses such as engineering, law, and postgraduate courses is expected to be released soon.

The exam paper pattern and the marks weightage will be the same as that of the winter exams that were held in December. However, for arts, science and commerce courses, students will have no choice in questions like they were given in the previous semester. In the winter exam, the question paper had 50 MCQs and students were asked to attempt only 40 in an hour. However, students, this term will have to attempt all 50 questions. The paper will be for 50 marks, instead of 60.

As per the circular, final year exams will be held in May based on the college cluster model, wherein the lead college will take the responsibility of organising the exams in consultation with other colleges. The college-level exams would have to be completed by April.
