The University of Mumbai released a helpline number and email facility for counseling students on May 12, 2020. According to the reports, the decision to set up a helpline for counseling students is taken in line with the directives of the University Grants Commission (UGC) as well as the state higher and technical education department. The helpline facility is set up to address the exam-related issues, other stress and anxieties of students amid the ongoing nationwide lockdown imposed due to the spread of the pandemic novel coronavirus.

In order to seek advice and avail the services offered by the MU, students can call the numbers +91 96190 34634 and +91 93737 00797 between 11 am and 5 pm or write their issues and queries to examhelpline@mu.ac.in. Students of the university’s Institute of Distance and Open Learning (IDOL), may also write to info@idol.mu.ac.in.

Students can raise questions regarding examinations as well as admissions and university officials will provide resolutions to these queries.

Meanwhile, the Mumbai University is busy constructing an action plan regarding the conduction of the examinations for the existing students and beginning the admission process for new students. In an official statement, the university administration said that the University will release a faculty-wise detailed action plan soon.

Amid the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown the higher and technical education department of the state government appointed a committee to decide ways to conduct the pending semester examinations of universities and colleges. According to the recommendations given by the committee, the final year examinations of undergraduate and postgraduate students will be conducted between July 1 and July 30, 2020.
