30% of registered JEE Main 2023 candidates are females
Around 2.6 lakh women candidates have registered for the engineering entrance exam this year.
Of the total 8.6 lakh candidates who have registered for the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main 2023 January session, 30 per cent are females, The Times of India reported.
Male aspirants continue to dominate, accounting for more than 6 lakh, or nearly 70 per cent, of the registered candidates. However, for the first time, women account for over 30 per cent of the candidates, although the increase in absolute numbers is marginal compared to 2022, i.e., from 2.5 lakh to 2.6 lakh.
JEE) Main 2023 Session 1 will start from tomorrow, January 24 , 2023. The exam will be held in two shifts, from 9 am to 12 pm (morning shift) and from 3 pm to 6 pm (evening shift) in various exam centres across the country and abroad. JEE Main 2023 Session 1 will be held on January 24, 25, 29, 30, 31 and February 1 for paper 1 (BE/Btech). On January 28, the BArch/BPlanning paper will be held in single shift.
This year, the percentage of General candidates in JEE registration dropped from 41.8 per cent to 38.3 per cent. While the OBC Category registration is up from 35.7 per cent to 37.1 per cent, the repor said.
JEE Main 2023 admit card for January 25 exam released
Meanwhile, the National Testing Agency (NTA) released JEE Main 2023 admit cards for January 25th exam today, January 22, on official website at jeemain.nta.nic.in.
The JEE Main Session 1 admit card for Day 1 was released on January 21. Candidates can check their roll number, exam city, venue, timing, and exam day guidelines on their hall ticket. Candidates should reach the JEE Main 2023 exam centres on or before the reporting time. Before entering the exam centre, they will have to undergo thorough checking. After downloading the JEE Main admit card 2023, candidates should verify their personal details such as name, photo and signature and in case of any discrepancy, contact NTA for the rectification of same.
