JEE Main 2017 application correction facility available now; Check details
The application correction facility for JEE Main 2017 will end on February 3. The facility was made available on the official website from January 25 . Aspirants who registered for the exam can visit the JEE Main 2017 website and verify their particulars in the registration forms.
The JEE Main website states, "The online process of correction, in particulars filled by the candidates in the application form of JEE (Main)-2017, will start from 25th January, 2017 onwards.The last date for online correction in the particulars of application form is 03rd February 2017 and the additional fee, if any, can be paid up to 04th February 2017. Since, it is the one time facility, so, candidates are advised to do the corrections very carefully. In view of point number 1 mentioned above, the roll number of class 12th is not required at the time of calculation/declaration of All India Rank of JEE (Main)-2017 and the percentage/percentile of marks of class 12th will be verified by the concerned institution at the time of admission, however for information purpose, the candidates may enter their roll number of class 12th/improvement examination of class 12th during the correction in particulars. Further, at the time of downloading admit card of JEE(Main)-2017, the candidates will be given facility to enter/update their roll number of class 12th/improvement examination of class 12th".
Please note that change in mode of examination is not allowed(from online to offline or vice-versa). Corrections made after the above mentioned date will be entertained by the JEE Unit under any circumstances.
Aspirants need to pay any additinal fee, if applicable, through credit/debit card/Ewallet (SBI buddy/Paytm) or through e-challan generated during the online correction by cash in the Syndicate/Canara/ICICI/HDFC Bank during Jan 25 to Feb 4, 2017.
As this is a one time facility, aspirants are required to fill in the details very carefully. Candidates will not be given any further chance of correction no matter what.
JEE Main 2017 Acknowledgement Page:
CBSE has also released the JEE Main 2017 Acknowledgement Page on January 24. Aspirants taking the exam this year need to download the same to know their application status(whether the application form has been submitted successfully or not).
To download the JEE Main acknowledgement page, the application number, password and security pin is essential.
JEE Main 2017 application submission concluded on Jan 16. Aspirants aiming to take the exam should apply for the same on the official website of the exam.
The last date to apply for the exam was extended from Jan 2 to Jan 16, 2017. The official website stated, "In view of requests from various candidates/parents as well as schools, the date of online submission of application form of JEE (Main) – 2017 has been extended up to 16.01.2017 (11.59 PM). The fee may be paid by the candidates up to 18.01.2017 (11.59 PM). It is further informed that the other terms and conditions for online submission of application form will remain same. The last date of online submission of application form JEE (Main) – 2017 shall not be extended any further".

The Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE) will be conducting JEE Main 2017 on April 2, 2017 in offline mode(pen and paper based) while the online exam will be held on April 8 and 9. All the JEE Main 2017 exam related information was released by IIT Madras's JEE Advanced 2017 portal in October.
CBSE, the conducting authority of JEE Main 2017, launched the official website of the exam on November 18. The registrations for the exam commenced from December 1 on the official website.
JEE Main 2017 results are expected to be out on April 27, 2017.

JEE Main 2017 application process basically involves 3 stages.
1. Filling JEE Main 2017 Application Form
2. Upload Scanned Images
3. Payment of JEE Main 2017 application fee
Interested candidates should note that JEE Main 2017 application form will only be available online.
Before filling up the exam form, make sure you have the following:
- scanned copies of photograph, signature and thumb impression
- Class 10th and 12th related information, details/certificates (For students who have passed Class 12th in 2015 or 2016)
- Debit Card or Credit Card
How to apply for JEE Main 2017?
Registration:
The first and foremost step is to register for the exam on the official website. For the same, click on the “Apply for JEE (Main) – 2017” under “New Candidate Registration. Please note that for JEE Main 2017, aspirants will be able to register for the exam only if they have Aadhaar Cards. However, this requirement is not mandatory for candidates from the states of Assam, Jammu & Kashmir and Meghalaya.
At this step you would be required to enter various details like: Your Name, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, State of Eligibility etc. After you fill in the reuqired information, you need to submit the JEE Main 2017 application form. This in turn would generate an application number for JEE Main 2017. This number is crucial as it would be required for all the further communications.
Uploading of scanned images:
Once you have registered for the exam, you would be required to upload the scanned images of your photograph, signature and thumb impression. Take a look at the specifications below:
- All the scanned images of your photograph, signature and thumb impression need to be in jpg/jpeg format only.
- The size of the photograph should be between 4 kb and 40 kb.
- The size of signature image should be between 1 kb and 30 kb.
- The size of the thumb impression should be between 1 kb and 30 kb.
- Image dimension for the photograph: 3.5 cm (width) x 4.5 cm (Height) only.
- Image dimension for the signature: 3.5 cm (length) x 1.5 cm (Height) only.
- Image dimension for the thumb impression: 3.5 cm (length) x 1.5 cm (Height) only.
Fee payment:
Aspirants need to pay the application fee mentioned below:
If you are using your Credit Card to pay JEE Main 2017 application fee, 1.20% of the examination fee will be charged additionally along with service tax as applicable.
If you are using your Debit Card to pay JEE Main 2017 exam fee, a fee of 0.75% of the examination fee will be charged additionally along with taxes for exam fee upto Rs. 2000 and 1% + taxes for examination fee more than Rs. 2000.
For aspirants paying through:
- SBI Buddy: Rs.20/- per transaction plus the service tax as applicable.
- Paytm:1.50% of the examination fee plus the service tax as applicable
JEE Main 2017 application fee can also be paid through E-challan. For the same, aspirants need to download the e-challan generated after the submission of JEE Main 2017 online application form.
Aspirants paying the fee through e-challan need to select a bank (Syndicate/Canara/ICICI/HDFC) to deposit the application fee. Doing this would generate the e-challan with the required details and the amount to be paid. Aspirants need to take this print out and go to the nearest branch of the selected bank to pay the fee. Soon after the confirmation of fee payment, you would be able to take a print out of the acknowledge page.
Besides this, IIT Madras also released important dates and details pertaining to JEE Advanced 2017 along with launching the official website of the exam. IIT Madras is the exam conducting authority for the exam next year.
New developments in JEE Main and JEE Advanced 2017:
- From the academic year 2017, normalized score of class 12th marks will not be considered to determine JEE Main All India Ranks. This is contrary to last year where JEE Main 2016 ranks were calculated on the basis of JEE Main scores and normalized marks of Class XII in the ratio 60:40.
- Next year, 20000 more students will be able to apply for JEE Advanced 2017. This implies that the 2,20,000 candidates who clear JEE Main will be eligible to take JEE Advanced 2017. The document states, “For the candidates to qualify for admission in the IITs/NITs/IIITs and such other CFTIs whose admissions are ·based on the JEE ranks, they-· should have secured at least 75% marks in the 12th Class exam, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class exam conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST students the qualifying mark would be 65% In the 12th Class exam”.
- JEE Advanced 2017 is expected to go international and be held simultaneously in 10 countries .
