Today, Union Education Minister, Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal tweeted that JEE Main 2021 will be held in regional languages to benefit students from different regions across the country. The Minister had given an interview regarding the upcoming JEE Main examination and has taken this initiative with the support of various intellectuals, thinkers and many directors of NITs and IITs. This initiative has been taken to encourage and provide an opportunity to all the students to understand the concepts in their mother tongue and help them to think better. 

The Minister also mentions in the interview that this measure has been taken not to abolish the English language but to add the regional languages along with. This will help create an environment in higher education where regional language students will also be able to stand out.

Earlier, on December 10, Dr Pokhriyal had taken suggestions that JEE Main 2021 might be held four times a year starting from February end, then March, April and May. The Union Education Minister conducted a live interaction session with students from across the country, clearing their doubts and queries regarding upcoming JEE Main 2021 and other exams. The Minister had asked students to put forward their queries by using #EducationMinisterGoesLive. He responded to queries related to JEE Main 2021 syllabus reduction, the total number of attempts, clash of JEE Main 2021 exam dates with board practicals and more.
