NTA will release the JEE Main answer key 2025 tentatively in the second week of April.

NTA will announce the JEE Main 2025 final result before April 17. The final result will have the JEE Main 2025 cutoff for JEE Advanced and the All India Ranks of the candidates.

Candidates cannot carry the below items:

• Pencil/Geometry Box or any other stationery

• Handbag

• Purse

• Any kind of paper or printed material

• Eatables and Water (loose or packed)

• Electronic items and instruments such as Mobile Phone, Ear Phone, Microphone, Pager, Calculator

• Instruments such as DocuPen, Slide Ruler, Log Tables, Camera, Tape Recorder

• Any type of watch including electronic watches with a calculator, any metallic item or electronic gadgets/ devices in the examination hall/room

Candidates have to carry the below items:

• Self-Declaration Undertaking: Candidates will have to carry a printed copy of the self-declaration undertaking, which is a part of admit card downloaded from NTA’s website.

• Ball Point Pen: This time candidates have to carry a ballpoint pen to the exam hall.

• Photograph: Candidates are also requested to carry one passport-size photograph to the test centre. This should be the same as uploaded while filling the online application form. The photograph needs to be pasted on a specific space in the attendance sheet at the examination hall.

• Any one of the authorized photo IDs (must be original, valid and non-expired) –

  • PAN card

  • Driving license

  • Voter ID

  • Passport

  • Aadhaar Card (with the photograph)

  • Aadhaar enrolment number/Ration card

NTA is expected to release the JEE Main 2025 April session official answer key in the second week of April 2025. The result is expected by April 17.

As per the candidates and the experts, the JEE Mains 2025 April session exam was considered moderate in both shifts. In both shifts, Maths was moderate and Physics was also moderate but has a few tricky questions. Chemistry was deemed easy in both shifts.

As per the candidates, the toughest section of the JEE Main 2025 April session day 1 exam was Physics, followed by Maths. Physics had some tricky questions, whereas Maths was not as had as it was in the January session. All questions in maths were doable.

Day 2 of JEE Main 2025 April session will take place tomorrow, April 3. The shift 1 will be held from 9 am to 12 noon and the shift 2 from 3 pm to 6 pm.

NTA will announce the JEE Main 2025 April session result by April 17 at jeemain.nta.nic.in.

IIT Kanpur will commence the JEE Advanced registration on April 23 at the official website. Eligible candidates will be able to fill the JEE Advanced application form 2025 at jeeadv.ac.in. The last date to fill the JEE Advanced application form is May 2. The registration process for Foreign Nationals will be available from April 7 to May 2.

National Testing Agency will release the JEE Main 2025 cutoff along with the declaration of session 2 results. JEE Main cutoff will be released separately for all categories. Applicants appearing in the exam can check JEE Main previous year cutoff from the table provided below.  

National Testing Agency is conducting JEE Mains 2025 session 2 exam on April 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, and 9. Applicants appearing in the exam have to carry their JEE Mains admit card 2025 along with one valid photo ID proof to the exam centre. The paper 2 for Architecture courses will be conducted on April 9. 

JEE Main 2025 April 2 exam is being held in two shifts. the shift 1 will be held for 3 hours - from 9 am to 12 noon, and the shift 2 from 3 pm to 6 pm.

Candidates can use JEE Mains 2025 login to re-download the JEE Mains April Attempt 2025 admit card. It’s recommended to keep multiple copies of JEE Main admit card as backup.

The JEE Main 2025 April result will be announced by April 17, 2025.

Shiksha ran a poll asking JEE main 2025 candidates about how their exam was on the April 2 shift 1. Most of the candidates said the exam was Moderate.

As per the expert analysis of the Physics section of the JEE Mains 2025 April 2 Shift 1 exam, more weightage was given to Mechanics, Electrostatics & Current Electricity. Chapters included Kinematics, Gravitation, Rotational Motion, SHM, Laws of Motion, Magnetism, Ray Optics, Modern Physics, Work Power & Energy, Heat & Thermodynamics. Numerical-based questions were easy. A few fact-based questions from class XII chapters of the NCERT were also asked.

As per the expert analysis of the Chemistry section of the JEE Mains 2025 April 2 Shift 1 exam, organic chemistry was given more weightage compared to Inorganic Chemistry. Questions asked from GOC, Amines, Aldehyde & Ketones, Chemical Bonding, Electrochemistry, Mole Concept, Coordination Compounds, Liquid Solutions, Atomic Structure, Chemical kinetics, Alcohol, Ether & Phenol, Biomolecules, Aryl & Alkyl halides. Numerical-based questions came from Physical Chemistry.

Some students noted that Vector and 3D Geometry questions were present but not difficult. The candidates are going through a very strict frisking process at the JEE Main April session exam centres across the nation:

• In some centres, candidates are not allowed to wear shoes.
• Only an original and valid government issued ID card is accepted for verification.
• Candidates are not allowed inside the exam hall after the gate closing time.
• Biometrics are done very strictly, and any mismatch can lead to a delay in frisking and identification.

The JEE Main 2025 April 2 shift 2 exam will start at 3 pm, and the gates will close at 2:30 pm.

• Candidates with the JEE Main 2025 exam on April 2 in shift 2 must make sure to bring their JEE Main 2025 admit card.
• Candidates will need to show anyone of the following types of ID with the JEE Main 2025 admit card - a school ID, PAN card, driving license, voter ID, passport, Aadhaar card with your photo, EAadhaar with photo, ration card with a photo, Class XII board admit card with a photo, or a bank passbook with your photo.
• Additionally, candidates are needed to bring a passport-sized photo that matches the one they uploaded with their application. This is for the attendance sheet at the exam center. 
• Candidates also have to fill out the Self Declaration (Undertaking) form, downloaded with the admit card, with complete details filled.

The frisking of the JEE Main 2025 shift 2 candidates has started. The candidates must reach the exam centre at least one hour before the exam starts. The exam centre gates for JEE Main 2025 shift 2 exam today will close at 2:30 pm.

There were total 90 questions and Total marks of JEE Main Paper-1 was 300. The paper had three parts & each part had two sections:

• Part-I- Physics had total 30 questions – Sec-I had 20 Multiple choice questions with Single correct answers & Sec-II had 5 Numerical based questions all had to be attempted. Marking scheme for multiple choice questions was +4 for correct response, -1 for incorrect response, 0 if not attempted. Marking scheme for numerical based questions was +4 for correct response and 0 in all other cases. Total marks of this section were 100.
• Part-II- Chemistry had total 30 questions – Sec-I had 20 Multiple choice questions with Single correct answers & Sec-II had 5 Numerical based questions and all had to be attempted. Marking scheme for multiple choice questions was +4 for correct response, -1 for incorrect response, 0 if not attempted. Marking scheme for numerical based questions was +4 for correct response, -1 for incorrect response and 0 in all other cases. Total marks of this section were 100.
• Part-III- Mathematics had total 30 questions – Sec-I had 20 Multiple choice questions with Single correct answers & Sec-II had 5 Numerical based questions all had to be attempted. Marking scheme for multiple choice questions was +4 for correct response, -1 for incorrect response, 0 if not attempted. Marking scheme for numerical based questions was +4 for correct response, -1 for incorrect response and 0 in all other cases. Total marks of this section were 100.
• Questions covered almost all chapters of Class XI & XII CBSE Board. Students felt paper was Balanced but Lengthy.

The level of difficulty as per feedback from students on 2nd April 2025 (Forenoon Session).

• Mathematics – Moderate. The paper had a strong focus on Calculus, Coordinate Geometry, and Algebra. Some students noted that Vector and 3D Geometry questions were present but not difficult. A few lengthy calculations in certain questions made time management crucial, but the overall difficulty was balanced. The Numerical Section had lengthy calculations.

• In terms of order of Difficulty – Physics was Moderately tricky, Mathematics was Moderate & Lengthy, and Chemistry was Easy. Overall, this paper was of Moderate level as per students.

Students were given a booklet for rough work. There was tight invigilation as per students. No errors were reported in the question papers so far.

The JEE Main 2025 shift 2 exam today will start sharply at 3 pm. The exam will go on for 3 hours and end at 6 pm.

The list of JEE Main 2025 toppers features 14 candidates who scored 100 percentile in the January session. In comparison, the previous year (2024) saw 23 toppers in session 1 and 56 in session 2. Out of the total 13,11,544 candidates who registered for the exam, 12,58,136 appeared for JEE Main 2025 Session 1. The OBC category had the highest attendance with 4,90,275 candidates, followed by the General category with 4,66,358 candidates. The SC category had 1,22,845 candidates, while the ST category saw 39,959 candidates attending. Additionally, the EWS category reported 1,38,699 candidates taking the exam.

As compared to the January session, Maths was easier in the April 2 shift 1 exam. Physics was moderate, but some questions were tricky. Chemistry was Moderate to tough as per the candidates.

Candidates say that in this shift, the questions in chemistry were not direct and were a bit difficult. The questions were of mixed concepts.

According to the official JEE Advanced 2025 website, the counselling process for JEE Main and JEE Advanced 2025 will begin on June 3. The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) is responsible for conducting the counselling, which is aimed at allocating seats for undergraduate engineering programs across prestigious institutions like IITs, NITs, IIEST, IIITs, and other GFTIs. While admission to IITs is determined by JEE Advanced ranks, other participating colleges assign seats based on JEE Main ranks. JoSAA will manage the seat allocation for 121 institutes, including 23 IITs, 31 NITs, IIEST Shibpur, 26 IIITs, and 40 other GFTIs. In the previous academic session, these institutes collectively offered a total of 59,937 seats.

As per the candidates outside a few centres of the JEE Main 2025 shift 1 exam - shoes were not allowed at the centre, and they had to leave their shoes outside the exam hall. The frisking was very strict. Metallic items in clothing are not allowed. The gate closing time is being followed strictly.
