JEE Main Statistics: National Testing Agency reported the smooth and successful conduct of Joint Entrance Examination Main 2026 session 1 during the initial four days of the exam, held from January 21 to 24. According to data released by NTA, a total of 10,36,211 candidates appeared for JEE Main 2026 during this period. The exam recorded a high attendance rate of 96.26 per cent.
NTA also highlighted the effective implementation of identity verification measures, with 96.19 per cent of candidates verified through Aadhaar based authentication. NTA said, contributed significantly to maintaining transparency and security at exam centres.

Special arrangements were made for candidates with disabilities with 3,453 Persons with Disabilities appearing for JEE Main 2026 over four days. NTA noted that necessary accommodations were provided to ensure accessible exam environment. NTA is expected to continue monitoring the remaining days of JEE Main 2026 Session 1 with same operational rigour, and further updates are likely to be issued as the examination progresses.
