JEE Main 2026 Topper Pasala Mohith: Pasala Mohith is the topper of the JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam with a 300 out of 300 score. He has scored 100 percentile based on the JEE Mains topper list released by NTA on February 16, 2026. 

Shiksha.com got in touch with Pasala Mohith to understand how he achieved this feat despite a difficult exam this year. As per the inputs shared by the meritorious Pasala Mohith, he said that he joined the classroom program of Sri Chaitanya, Hyderabad centre and has been preparing for JEE Mains and Advanced. He is currently in class 12 and will also be appearing for the class 12 board exam this year.  Let us know how his journey went, how he prepared, and handled stress.

Q: Tell us about yourself. Which school and board have you studied from?

A: I am currently studying in class 12 at Sri Chaitanya Techno School & Educational Institutions, affiliated to Board of Intermediate EducationAndhra Pradesh.

Q: Why did you choose Engineering as your choice of higher study? Which branch will you opt for?

A: I was always interested in Maths and Physics and developed a liking towards engineering. I am aiming for computer science at IIT Bombay.

Q: Do you think previous years' papers and mock tests help in the JEE Main 2026 preparation?

A: Yes. They help a lot. I attempted a lot of mock tests and sample papers at my coaching institute, which helped me get prepared for JEE Main.

Q: Was there any different strategy that you adopted during the final month of preparation for JEE Mains?

A: I prepared for the JEE Main and board examinations simultaneously, as there is not much difference in the syllabus.

Q: Any word of advice to future JEE Main aspirants?

A: Try to focus on errors, and silly mistakes should be avoided. Practice time management and be prepared for the unexpected.

JEE Main exam is held for 3 hours continuously without any break. Candidates are allowed to leave exam hall only after 3 hours of the test are over.

Q:   How many times JEE Main is conducted in a year?
A: 

National Testing Agency generally conducts the JEE Main exam two times in a year. The first attempt is conducted in January and the second attempt in April. JEE Main 2026 exam dates have been announced by the NTA for both sessions. The first attempt of JEE Main 2026 will be conducted from January 21 to 30 while the second attempt will be conducted from April 2 to 9. Only in the year 2022, NTA conducted JEE Mains in four sessions due to COVID-19. The number of sessions and date for any year is announced by the NTA at the time of release of application form.

No, VIT Vellore BTech admission is not decided through JEE Mains scores. Candidates who wish to apply for BTech must appear in VITEEE only in order to qualify for VIT Vellore admission. No other entrance exams have been mentioned as alternatives to VITEEE.

NMIT Bangalore reserves 2% seats for candidates with JEE Main score of at least 75. JEE category aspirants are eigible for Merit Scholarship seats, provided they score a minimum of 85 NTA score and not less than 80% aggregate in PCM in Class 12. The ranking is based on JEE Main NTA score.

No, JEE Main is not compulsory for taking admission in the BTech programme at JECRC University. Candidates can get admission based on their merit in Class 12 exam. However, students with JEE Main score are preferred more for admission.

No, JEE Main is not required to take admission in BTech at NMAM Institute of Technology, NITTE University. The college accepts NUCAT scores for BTech admissions. NUCAT is conducted by the institute itself. It has MCQ type questions with no negative marking.

No, candidates need to pass NMIMS CET conducted by the university for admission in BTech programme of NMIMS Chandigarh. SAT/ ACT qualified candidates can also get admission. Applicants have to confirm their seat by paying the course fee after completion of selection process.

Candidates can get admission in BTech programme of United Group of Institutions, Greater Noida via UPTAC Counselling based on their JEE Main scores. Hence, JEE Main is one of the options to get admission in the institute.
