Urgent: JEE Main 2026 Chemistry (5 Apr S2) Answer Key Under Review; NTA Asks Students Not to Pay Fee
NTA has issued an urgent advisory regarding errors in the JEE Main 2026 April 2 Shift 2 chemistry answer keys. All students should avoid making any fee payment until NTA issues an official notification in this regard in due course. Read complete details below.
NTA has released the JEE Mains session 2 answer keys and response sheets of the students on April 11, and the challenge window has also been activated. The last date to challenge the keys is April 13, by 11:50 PM. However, on April 12, NTA released a fresh advisory that states: "Verification underway for reported discrepancies in JEE (Main) Chemistry paper (5 April, Session 2); candidates advised not to make any payments until official clarification."
According to the notice published, the agency has started verifying the concerns raised by candidates about certain questions in the Chemistry paper. The verification process is currently ongoing, and candidates have been advised to wait for an official clarification.

The NTA has also issued a clear advisory asking candidates not to make any payments related to challenges or objections until further notice. Only after the verification is complete, NTA will release further updates, including details on the answer key challenge window, if applicable.
Candidates should note that any updates regarding the JEE Main 2026 Session 2 answer key, response sheet, or objection process will be released only on the official website - jeemain.nta.nic.in.
What candidates should do now:
- Wait for the official clarification from NTA
- Do not pay any fees for answer key challenges at this stage
- Keep checking the official website for updates
NTA conducted the JEE Mains 2026 session 2 exam on April 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8. The paper 1 was held on April 2, 4, 5,6 and 8, and the paper 2 was held on April 7. Currently, the answer keys, response sheet and challenge window are active only for the paper 1 candidates only.
NTA is expected to declare the paper 1 JEE Mains 2026 result on or before April 20.
