IGNOU advises Students against Fraudulent Exam Fee Collection by Impersonators

IGNOU has clarified that it has never authorized any person to collect money through unofficial means. All payments related to examination fees, certificates, or revaluation must be made exclusively through IGNOU’s official website.
The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has issued a public advisory cautioning its students against unscrupulous individuals posing as university officials and attempting to collect money through fraudulent means.
As per a notice issued by the university, some imposters have been contacting students via personal emails, phone calls, and other channels, demanding payments for various services including examination fees, issuance of duplicate grade cards and degrees, transcripts, verification of certificates, project and practical fees, revaluation, and photocopies of answer sheets.
IGNOU has clarified that it has never authorized any person to collect money through unofficial means. All payments related to examination fees, certificates, or revaluation must be made exclusively through IGNOU’s official website (http://ignou.ac.in).
IGNOU has advised learners have been advised to remain vigilant and avoid falling prey to such scams. IGNOU further urged students to share details of such incidents with local police authorities for strict legal action.
IGNOU advisory reads: “The University will not be responsible for any such fraudulent transactions or consequences arising out of it.”
