Educational portals not only prescribe the best study reference materials but also provide valuable tips and strategies to nail the exam in a perfect manner.

Meticulous preparation based on textbooks

At times, many students believe that textbooks are not much of use as a comparison to external exam preparation materials like sample test papers book, guidebook, books published by commercial publishers. Their importance cannot be discarded but at the same time, the benefits of emphasizing textbooks are unparalleled.

Refer to reliable external study material

Conceptual questions of reliable external study material go a long way in enabling exam aspirants to build a strong foundation in the context of grasping the fundamental concepts of textbooks. Considering that maths is an extremely scoring subject, it is recommended to attempt mock tests from different external study materials including books, guides, online mock test papers and many more.

Attempting mock test papers

The golden proverb that ‘Practice makes a man perfect’ is one of the most relatable proverbs in terms of attempting any exam. Right from improving speed to preparing you for those questions that have not been asked so far in the examination, solving mock test papers can make one avail of a multitude of benefits. It also makes one familiar with the exam pattern, marking scheme, types of questions asked in the exam, etc.

Solving previous year exam papers

Solving previous year papers is one such tactic that never results in any wastage in terms of time and effort. Not merely solving previous year paper imparts student an inkling about the question pattern but also enables them to master the art of finishing the paper well on time.  Approaching teachers and seniors and those who have passed this exam can prove to be helpful. Also, solving previous year question papers better help in memorizing the formulas, especially the complicated ones. As one goes on to continue solving more and more problems, the chances of committing errors go on to reduce with time.

Continual revision

Contrary to the prevalent belief, revision is not something meant to postpone until the last few days before the exam. As one goes on to complete lessons, the revision must continue. For instance, once one have finished the second lesson, revise the first lesson immediately. Thereafter, with the completion of the third lesson, revise both the first and second lessons along with revising the third lesson. This million-dollar strategy will ensure that students do not end up forgetting the previous lessons by the time they complete the last lesson. Also, while revising, make sure to keep in mind the weightage of each chapter, the pattern of the exam and the types of questions generally asked from each chapter.

Steer clear of silly mistakes

Mathematics is one of the most scoring subjects but at the same time, it is also true that Maths is indeed a subject where there is a lot of scope for the silly mistakes to take place. For instance, a minor error in the calculation will not merely result in an incorrect answer but it will also slow down the speed in the exam, ultimately triggering loss of focus due to hurry. Another common mistake is not ensuring a sound sleep a day prior, which results in a tired mind. While attempting the exam, it is recommended to read the given instructions carefully.

Stick to time-table

Every single step is only going to prove to be effective only if one remains committed to adhering to the timetable at all costs. Be it completing the lesson or attempting a mock test, be it revising lessons or solving previous year question papers, accommodate time in everyday time table for all necessary activities to score good marks. By sticking to it, students will be able to keep unnecessary last-minute stress at bay ultimately resulting in enhanced focus during writing the exam.
