NIMCET 2026 Syllabus Revised: Check Out The Changes!
The National Institutes of Technology (NITs) have released an updated syllabus for the NIT MCA Common Entrance Test (NIMCET), effective from the 2026 season. The new syllabus has more straightforward guidelines and added topics to enable aspirants to prepare for the competitive examination.
NIMCET Updated Syllabus
The following changes have been observed in the NIMCET 2026 syllabus.
1. Mathematics
The topic Vectors has been removed.
2. Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning
The previous syllabus only broadly mentioned "logical situations and questions based on given facts." The new syllabus has a detailed list of topics.
- Reasoning: Verbal, Non-verbal, Deductive, Inductive, with topics on blood relations, coding-decoding, direction test, seating arrangement, puzzles, input-output, syllogism, alphanumeric series, mirror images, statements and conclusions/arguments.
- Problem-solving & Critical thinking
- Data Interpretation, Numerical Reasoning, Data Sufficiency & Data Visualization.
3. Computer Awareness
The Computer Awareness section will now be more comprehensive, with some added topics, including:
- Computer Hardware: Input Devices, Output Devices, Storage Devices & Memory
- Computer Software: Operating Systems, System Software & Application Software
- Internet and Email: Web Browsing, Email & Online Security
4. General English
The General English section now focuses more on "the overall accuracy and fluency in expressions of English required for technical education".
The updated syllabus offers more clarity, particularly with specific details in the reasoning and computer awareness sections.
