IIMC Concludes Ideathon 1.0, Showcasing Student Innovation in Media Startups
The Ideathon 1.0 included digital storytelling, the incorporation of AI into media, the growing possibility of regional language material, and the importance of social media literacy. An enthusiastic reaction saw 31 teams participate, each with their own unique and forward-thinking ideas.
Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) organised Ideathon 1.0. This initiative of the Incubation Centre aimed to foster media startup innovation and entrepreneurial spirit. The event included presentations from 14 teams of students on ground-breaking startup solutions across a diverse range of themes. The event began with the launch of Ideathon 1.0, an opportunity that invited students to submit innovative business ideas in a variety of disciplines.
These included digital storytelling, the incorporation of AI into media, the growing possibility of regional language material, and the importance of social media literacy. An enthusiastic reaction saw 31 teams participate, each with their own unique and forward-thinking ideas.
The Vice Chancellor of IIMC, Dr. Anupama Bhatnagar, shared her delight regarding the event, saying, "The energy and innovative spirit displayed by our students today are truly inspiring. The IIMC Incubation Centre is committed to nurturing these young minds and providing them with the platform to transform their ideas into reality." The Chairperson of the Incubation Centre, Prof. Anubhuti Yadav, said, "Ideathon 1.0 is just the beginning, and initiatives like this are crucial in shaping a dynamic and forward-thinking media and communication landscape."
Following a rigorous evaluation procedure, the panel selected 14 teams to proceed. These shortlisted teams were then assigned mentors, industry leaders, and academic experts who gave assistance and support as they refined their ideas and prepared complete presentations. The last programme of the event saw these teams present their polished proposals to a panel of respected judges, which included media veterans, entrepreneurs, and faculty members.
