PGDM is the flagship course offered by IMI Kolkata equivalent to MBA covers two years. However, in terms of affordability, Calcutta Business School is a better option since the total tuition fee for Calcutta Business School is INR 745,000 and the total tuition fee for MBA/PGDM at International Management Institute is INR 980,000. Getting an MBA seat at IMI Kolkata is tough. Students are required to first register for programme. After that, students are required to pass following three stages:

• Shortlisting Stage: Students who have shown good performance in entrance tests and have good academic record are shortlisted for programme
• Selection Stage: Shortlisted students are further evaluated via WAT and PI rounds. Those who pass both rounds are offered seat. 

 

To apply for PGDM in IMI Kolkata candidates first should be eligible for the programme. Secondly they must a have a valid CAT/XAT and CMAT scores. Candidates have to fill the online application form and submit it along with the non-refundable application fee and other required documents. To be eligible for admission to FPM programme, candidates must have first class master's degree. Shortlisting for programme is based on research proposal and evaluation of past academic performance. The final selection will be determined through a personal interview after presentation. The Institute offers 100% tuition fee waiver for regular FPM scholars.  

The Delhi campus of IMI Kolkata was established in 1981. The Kolkata campus of IMI was established in 2011. IMI Delhi has been ranked 40 in the Management Category by NIRF in 2025. On the other hand, IMI Kolkata was ranked 42. Thus, IMI Delhi is ranked better.

According to the NIRF 2025 rankings, IMI Kolkata was ranked 42 whereas IMI Bhubaneswar was ranked 94 in the Management Category. So IMI Kolkata is ranked better than IMI Bhubaneswar.
