UEM Kolkata MBA is a two-year postgraduate course, divided into four semesters, and offered in full-time mode. The university also offers part-time MBA courses. The basic eligibility criteria required by the university to get admission into MBA courses is candidates must complete, graduation in any stream. Moreover, for UEM Kolkata MBA admission, the university accepts candidates who are qualified in CAT/ MAT/ WBJEMAT/ any other national level or state level exam with at least 85 percentile. Applicants will undergo GD & PI before finalisation of the admission decision.
For candidates who are not qualified for CAT/ MAT/ WBJEMAT/ any other national level or state level exam, those applicants undergo the in-house entrance test (Institute of Engineering and Management Joint Entrance Examination (IEMJEE), followed by GD and PI. Candidates who hold a UG degree of either Engineering/ Science or Management are eligible to apply for MBA admission at UEM Kolkata. Admission to this course is entirely entrance-based. Candidates must qualify for CAT/ MAT/ WB JEMAT or any other state/ national-level entrance exam. Apart from that, candidates can also apply via a valid score of IEM CET, which is conducted by UEM itself. Candidates who qualifies for IEMCET will be exempted from other entrance exams. No, candidates who have qualified CAT/ MAT/ WB JEMAT/ IEMCET need to appear for GDPI round. Candidates who have qualified CAT/ MAT/ WB JEMAT with at least 85 percentile can appear directly for GDPI round. However, candidates with score less than 85 percentile, need to first appear for the UEM Entrance Test followed by a GDPI round. A pass in graduation with at least 60% aggregate & above in Science/ Management (70% aggregate & above for Engineering) is required to apply for MBA and part-time MBA course. Also, candidates must secure at least 70% aggregate & above in Class 10 and 65% aggregate in Class 12 to apply for MBA and part-time MBA courses. Additionally, a work experience of a minimum of three-year is required to apply for part-time MBA. Good communication skill is an added advantage.
MAT is conducted multiple times a year. Most of the MBA entrance exams in India are conducted annually. MAT is the only exam that is conducted multiple times in four phases and multiple exam modes. To make it possible for every MBA aspirant to appear for an entrance exam, AIMA designed MAT, which can be taken by candidates from an exam center as well as at home. The exam is held in February, May, September, and December, which allows candidates to prepare and plan for it as well as for MBA admission. In each of these four months, the MAT is conducted in CBT, PBT, and IBT modes. Candidates can choose a date and a mode of exam based on their preparation and convenience. Registrations for each MAT exam phase start a month earlier. Candidates can also take re-tests in the same academic session if they are not happy with their scores.
