The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduates (NEET-UG) today, i.e. May 4, 2025, across 548 citites in India and 14 centres abroad. The examination was conducted in pen-paper-based mode, where 20.8 Lakh candidates participated in the entrance examination in order to get admission to UG medical, dental and AYUSH courses across India. The Ministry of Education cited that there were no major challenges or allegations of malpractice recorded throughout the country test, as reported by NDTV.

In order to ensure the seamless management of NEET 2025, mock drills were conducted on Saturday at all National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET-UG) exam centers. The majority of the centres were situated at government-run or government-supported educational institutions, including colleges, universities, and schools, and no untoward incidents have been reported so far.

NEET UG 2025 Monitored by Multi-Ministry Control Room

Officials from the Ministries of Health and Family Welfare, Home Affairs, Defence, and Electronics & IT (MEITY) were a part of the Centralised Control Room that was controlled by the Ministry of Education.  In collaboration with local police departments and district administrations nationwide, this Centralised Control Room tracked events in real time.

NTA launched a Suspicious Claims Reporting Portal to tackle deception and cheating in NEET UG 2025.  More than 2,300 reports were received by the portal, the majority of which concerned false information regarding the NEET UG 2025 question papers leak and circulated on social media.
