NEET UG Counselling 2025

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2026 exam tentatively in May 2026. Students will soon be able to check the NEET UG 2026 Exam Date on the NTA official website, i.e. neet.nta.nic.in. As per the experts' anticipation, the NEET UG exam date 2026 may be announced shortly since the JEE Main 2026 exam schedule is already been announced.

The agency will release the NEET UG 2026 notification for all students on the web portal. The notification of NEET UG 2026 will include important details such as the exam schedule, registration dates, application process, and eligibility criteria for candidates willing to get admission in MBBS, BDS, and other undergraduate medical courses across India.

When will NTA Announce NEET UG 2026 Dates?

According to past year trends, NTA is expected to conduct the NEET UG exam 2026 in the first week of May 2026. Meanwhile, the NEET UG 2026 Application Form is expected to be released by December 2025. However, students may be provided with the NEET UG 2026 exam date anytime soon. Since the NTA has announced the JEE Main 2026 exam date and CBSE has also released the class 12 board exam dates, it is expected that the NEET UG exam date 2026 will be announced anytime soon.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced the NEET UG round 3 seat allotment results for the session 2025 at its official website. Students who have participated in the counselling process for admission to AIQ MBBS, BDS seats across India can now check their allocation status at mcc.nic.in.

Q:   What are the languages in which NEET will be conducted?
A:

NEET will be conducted in 13 languages. Till 2020, NEET was held in 11 languages. NTA increased the number of languages or medium to 13 from 2021 onwards. Malayalam and Punjabi are the latest additions. The list of languages are as follows:

  2. Hindi
  3. Bengali
  4. Urdu
  5. Assamese
  6. Gujarati
  7. Marathi
  8. Odia
  9. Kannada
  10. Tamil
  11. Malayalam
  12. Punjabi

Q:   What is the procedure to challenge NEET OMR sheets?
A:

The responses marked on the OMR Sheet of NEET are scanned and uploaded on the official website of NTA. The responses marked are read and captured by the machines, which can sometimes lead to smudging of the responses. Therefore, there can be errors in the scanned copy of NEET OMR sheet. If a student finds any such error in their OMR sheet, they have the provision to challenge them. Candidates have to pay a processing fee of INR 200 per response challenged. The steps for challenging the OMR sheet of NEET are given below:

  1. Go to the official website of NTA NEET
  2. Login using the NEET application number and password or date of birth
  3. Click on “OMR Challenge”
  4. You will see the questions in sequential order
  5. Select Question (s) for which you wish to challenge the Recorded Response.
  6. Once you select any Question for Challenge, you will see three options under the column ‘Candidate’s Claim’.
  7. If you wish to challenge this option, you may use the Options given in the ‘Candidate’s Claim’ column.
  8. After clicking your desired option, for Physics / Chemistry / Botany / Zoology for NEET (UG) - 2023, scroll down, ‘Submit’, and move to the next screen.
  9. You will see a screen displaying your challenges.
  10. Click on ‘Submit' and Pay Fee Finally’.
  11. Select Mode of Payment and Pay a processing fee of INR 200 for each question/grade challenged. Make payment through Debit/Credit Card/Net Banking/Paytm.
  12. After successful payment, download/print the Answer Key challenge receipt
Q:   What is the total number of NEET 2025 exam cities?
A:

The total number of exam cities for NEET 2025 was 566. This year, the total number of NEET exam cities in India was 552. The number of NEET exam cities outside India has remained 14. The number of exam cities in India has decreased by five cities from last year, which was 557.
