The SC bench headed by Chief Justice BR Gavai dismisses the plea granting liberty to make representation before the Government.

The Supreme Court has dismisses the plea seeking changes in medical education syllabus and course curriculum. Chief Justice of India while hearing the PIL asked the applicant to approach the Government for the same.

The Supreme Court of India today while hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking alteration in medical education syllabus, which include MBBS and postgraduate courses being offered, asked the applicant to approach Central government for the same.

The SC bench headed by Chief Justice BR Gavai dismisses the plea granting liberty to make representation before the Government. The CJI refused to hear PIL seeking changes in Allopathy curriculum observed: β€œYeh humara kaam nahi hai. Humein samajh nahi hai konsa syllabus hona chahiye aur konsa nahi. Hum kuch nahi kar sakte,” as reported by Bar&Bench.

The medical education syllabus is decided by the National Medical Commission (NMC), which prepares the syllabus, curriculum, and standards for medical education across India and makes changes from time to time.

NMC comprises of Undergraduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB) and the Postgraduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB). These bodies design and update the syllabus for MBBS, MD, MS and other medical courses.

A:

There is no guidelines as such which topics must be finished first for NEET PG. It varies from candidate to candidate. Candidates may attempt to finish lengthy topics first as it takes time. Another way is to finish high weightage subjects first. It must be kept in mind that whole syllabus must be completed at least a month before exam day so that revision and prcatice can be done properly.
