The petition seeks the following orders from the Court to reschedule the NEET-PG 2024 examination, to conduct the exam in a single batch to ensure uniform testing conditions.

A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court to postpone the NEET-PG 2024 examination, currently set for August 11, 2024. The petitioner, Vishal Soren, argues that many candidates face significant logistical challenges due to inconvenient exam centre allocations.

The allocation of exam cities was announced on July 31, 2024, with specific centres to be revealed on August 8, 2024. The short notice has made it difficult for students to arrange travel, leading to concerns over non-availability of train tickets and rising airfares.

Additionally, the petition raises issues about the normalization of scores across two batches of the exam. Soren requests disclosure of the normalization formula to ensure fairness and prevent potential disparities between the batches. The petitioners argue that without clarity on this formula, there is a risk of one batch facing more difficult questions than the other.

The petition seeks the following orders from the Court:

To reschedule the NEET-PG 2024 examination.

To conduct the exam in a single batch to ensure uniform testing conditions.

To rectify the examination centre allocation process for better equity and transparency.

The Supreme Court will consider these requests and decide on the potential postponement of the exam.
