NEET UG exam 2026

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the NEET UG 2026 exam tentatively on May 3, 2026. The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduates (NEET-UG) is an entrance test conducted for admission in MBBS, BDS, BSc Nursing and AYUSH courses. Every year, over 20 lakh students appear for NEET UG exam in order to make their career in the medical sector. The NEET UG registration statistics over the years have seen an increase in the number of registrations every year. Due to this reason, all indicators suggest that the NEET UG 2026 cutoff may remain high or increase further.

NEET UG 2026 Cutoff Likely to Rise

While the NEET UG 2026 qualifying percentile will remain constant (50th for General, 40th for reserved categories), the NEET UG cutoff score 2026 is expected to rise due to several critical factors. The NEET UG cutoff is affected by many reasons such as number of students appearing, the competition level of the examination and more. Hence, students appearing for NEET UG 2026 exam must focus more on preparations as getting a seat in UG medical/ dental course will not be easy this year. 

NEET UG 2026: Preparation Strategy for PCB

Physics, Chemistry and Biology are the three pillars of NEET UG exam. Students appearing for NEET UG 2026 can check the PCB strategy for the exam below: 

  • For Physics students must focus on basics and numerical practice. They must have a "Formula Bank" for topics like Mechanics and Electrodynamics.
  • In Chemistry, students must prioritise the NCERT for Inorganic. They should maintain a dedicated notebook for Organic and solve daily calculation-based problems.
  • For Biology, read and understand NCERT textbooks while using flowcharts and diagrams. They must focus on Genetics and Human Physiology chapters.
