NIT Trichy shifts to offline classes completely. The campus of the National Institute of Technology - Tiruchi (NIT-T) has recalled students and the classes have begun offline on campus in full swing in the post-pandemic scenario.

Offline classes begin in staggered manner

Considering the risk of COVID-19 spread still prevailing, the institute has decided to resume offline classes in a staggered manner. Initially, the technology institute had asked the second and third-year students to come and attend offline classes on campus. Later, the institute called the final year students to join for offline classes. Prior to that, PhD scholars were instructed to shift back into offline mode.

Summer vacations from May

Kumaresan told the Hindu that the Even Semester exams are about to begin. Soon second-year students will leave the campus for summer vacation after the exams this month and third-year students during mid-May.

However, the institute has decided to call first-year students for offline classes on campus for the last few weeks of the academic year during June. The first semester for them commenced during the last week of November 2021 and ended last month.

Following the social distancing practice and avoiding overcrowding on campus, over 1,200 first-year students will be accommodated in the hostels without any scope for crowding in the rooms after the senior students leave.
