CTET 2021: CBSE to adopt Normalisation Process to calculate scores & ensure fairness
CTET 2021 scores may be calculated by the CBSE using the normalisation process, as per the official notice released by CTET Director.
Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) may use the score normalisation process for preparing the CTET 2021 results. The move will ensure fairness in the declaration of scores and will help deal with the variations in the difficulty level of the CTET question papers. The 15th edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2021 exam will be conducted from December 16, 2021, to January 13, 2022.
The CTET exam will be conducted in multiple shifts and days. The CBSE will be using different sets of question papers in every shift. Though the board has made tireless efforts to ensure that each set of the question paper maintains the same difficulty level of questions and the coverage of the CTET syllabus, the normalisation process will ensure fairness to account for the variations, if any. The details of the CTET normalisation process have not been shared yet.
The CTET 2021 exam is conducted for two papers – Paper 1 and Paper 2. The CTET Paper 1 is for Classes 1 to 5 teachers and Paper 2 is for Classes 6 to 8 teachers. Both papers comprise a total of 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) of one mark each.
As per the question papers and exam analysis of previous years, the CTET exam is easy to moderate in terms of the difficulty level. Candidates usually find it hard to complete the paper on time. It is advisable that candidates should focus on attempting as many questions as possible in the exam as there is no negative marking in the CTET examination for wrong answers.
