NDA 1 notification 2020 released; Apply online till Jan 28

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released NDA 1 notification 2020 on January 8. The application form is available now. Total 418 vacancies have been announced for NDA 1 exam. Candidates who wish apply for the exam can fill the application form online till January 28. The application fee is Rs 100, which can be paid both online, and offline. Candidates can pay the application fees offline till January 27 while the offline fee can be paid till January 28. The facility to withdraw NDA application form will be available from February 4 to 11, 2020.

The written exam of NDA is scheduled to be conducted on April 19 across 41 cities spread throughout the country. The exam will be conducted in two sessions – morning and afternoon.

According to NDA eligibility criteria 2020, the age of candidates applying for the exam should be between 16.5 to 19.5 years. Candidates for admission to Army Wing of National Defence Academy must have passed Class 12/HSC or equivalent exam from a recognised board or university. For admission to Air Force, Navy and Naval Academy of National Defence Academy, candidates must have passed Class 12/HSC with Physics and Mathematics.

How to fill NDA application form 2020?

• NDA application form 2020 comprises two parts – I and II. The steps to fill the application form for both the parts are given below.
• Candidates need to visit the official website - upsc.gov.in.
• Click Part I – Registration of NDA application form 2020.
• The part I registration is divided into four pages- NDA registration, choosing the preferred branch, verifying details and generation of registration ID.
• Once completing the Part I of NDA application form, registration ID of candidates will be generated.
• The Part II of application form, candidates need to pay the application fees, select the exam centre, upload scanned images of photograph and signature.
• Candidates should take the printout of the application form and fee payment receipt.

NDA Selection Process

The selection process of NDA comprises written exam and SSB Interview. According to NDA exam pattern 2020, the written test comprises two sections – Mathematics and General Ability Test (GAT). The written test carries total 900 marks. Candidates who obtains the minimum qualifying marks in the written exam are called for SSB Interview. The SSB Interview is conducted for Intelligence and Personality Test. The test is conducted in two stages. Final selection of candidates are done based on written exam and SSB Interview.

NDA 1 exam is conducted for admission to Army, Navy and Air Force wings of the NDA for the 145th Course, and for 107th Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC) commencing from January 2, 2021.
