The UPSC 2020 exam will be conducted today across the nation. The UPSC exam 2020 will be conducted amid the rising cases of COVID-19 infections and the prevailing flood conditions in the eastern and the north-eastern states. UPSC 2020 exam was scheduled to be conducted on May 31 but was postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic. UPSC announced the new exam dates for IAS prelims 2020 on June 5. Approximately, 10.58 lakh candidates have applied for the UPSC Civil Services (three-stage) 2020 examination.

In view of UPSC exam 2020, Delhi metro started today at 6.AM. In the written affidavit to the Supreme Court of India, UPSC also stated that the directions were forwarded to all Chief Secrateirs of all the states that the state transport should run at the optimum level on the day of UPSC 2020 prelims exam

UPSC exam 2020 will be conducted in two sessions. The morning session will start at 9.30 AM and the afternoon session at 2.30 PM. UPSC announced on June 5 that it will conduct the UPSC Civil Services (IAS) prelims examination on October 4 at 2569 centres across 72 cities in the country.

UPSC Civil Services (IAS) exam is a three-stage exam comprising prelims, mains-written and mains-interview. UPSC prelims is a screening exam and the candidates need to qualify it to get eligible for the UPSC main written exam. The marks secured in the IAS prelims exam are not considered for the final merit. The UPSC prelims 2020 will have two question papers. The details of the papers are given below.

The UPSC CSAT paper is qualifying in nature only and the candidates need to score equal to or over sixty-six marks in the UPSC CSAT paper.

Some civil service aspirants filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the Supreme Court of India, but the plea was dismissed with directions to UPSC that the apex recruitment body should provide an additional attempt to the persons working as the corona warrior among different departments. The UPSC has nodded to consider this option because the UPSC has to consult the Ministry of Personnel on this issue.

In the affidavit submitted in the Apex court, UPSC stated that around ten lakh candidates have applied for the UPSC 2020 exam and around six lakh candidates have downloaded the UPSC admit card. Interestingly, in a first, the UPSC admit card for the IAS 2020 exam was released on September 1, over one month before the exam.

The UPSC 2020 exam result will be declared in October last week or in November first week. The UPSC IAS main exam is scheduled from January 8, 2021. The UPSC IAS exam is conducted to recruit the candidates for All-India Services and central civil services. Indian Administrative Services is the dream job of every applicant. Even in the common conversations aspirants call it IAS exam.
