UPSC IES 2025 Exam: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is set to conduct the Indian Engineering Services (IES) Preliminary Examination 2025 on Sunday, June 8. Candidates appearing for the engineering services exam must check the UPSC IES exam day guidelines, shift timings, and important instructions to avoid any last-minute confusion.

UPSC IES selection process comprises three stages: Preliminary, Mains, and Personality Test. The Preliminary Exam consists of two objective papers: Paper I (General Studies and Engineering Aptitude) – 2 hours, 200 marks and Paper II (Engineering Discipline – CE/ME/EE/ECE) – 3 hours, 300 marks.

The exam will be conducted in two shifts across various centres in India:

UPSC IES 2025 Exam Day Guidelines for Candidates

To ensure a smooth exam process, candidates must follow the important guidelines:

UPSC ESE Admit Card Requirement

  • Candidates must carry a printed copy of their admit card along with a valid photo ID proof (Aadhaar card, PAN card, driving license, etc.).
  • Entry will not be allowed without these documents.

UPSC IES Reporting Time

  • Candidates should reach the exam centre at least 60 minutes prior to the commencement of the exam.
  • Entry will be closed 10 minutes before the start of each session.

Items Permitted and Banned

  • Only black ballpoint pens are allowed for marking answers.
  • Use of electronic devices such as mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, calculators, and pagers is strictly prohibited.
  • Any violation of the code of conduct will result in disqualification.

Other Important Instructions

  • Do not write your roll number or name on the answer sheets except in the designated space.
  • Any kind of unfair means or misconduct will lead to strict disciplinary action.
